This Philippine Film Industry Month, we put the spotlight on Munting Liwanag, a film starring Netty Inojales and Carlo Gonzales, which recently held private screenings in Manila and Legazpi, Bicol this September.
Beyond the screenings, the film also highlights the growing presence of Bicolano creatives behind the camera. A significant part of the production team—from cinematography and camera work to editing and other key production roles—comes from the Bicol Region.
Many of these creatives are from Sorsogon Province, working alongside cast and other production members based in Manila to bring Munting Liwanag to the screen.
The project reflects how filmmaking can bring together talents from different places, while giving regional creatives the opportunity to contribute their skills and experience to a larger production.
As we celebrate Philippine cinema this September, Munting Liwanag is also a meaningful reminder of the talent and creative work coming from Bicol—and the people behind the scenes who continue to help shape Filipino stories on screen.
