Following a productive discussion between Senator JV Ejercito and Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief, Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao, the LTO has issued a crucial clarification regarding its enforcement policy on modified mufflers. The agency emphasizes that its focus is not on penalizing legitimate buyers of aftermarket mufflers but rather on apprehending those using illegally assembled or non-compliant devices.

Senator Ejercito highlighted the concerns of motorists who legally purchase and install aftermarket mufflers, emphasizing the importance of distinguishing between compliant and non-compliant modifications. Asec. Lacanilao affirmed the LTO's commitment to a fair and clear implementation of regulations.

The LTO reiterates that mufflers purchased from authorized dealers, which are branded and have undergone the necessary processes to meet national standards, are generally not subject to apprehension. These compliant aftermarket mufflers, often equipped with catalytic converters, meet established noise and emission standards. Therefore, motorists with such legal mufflers are not required to carry certifications from manufacturers or assemblers to prove their legality. The LTO recognizes that products that pass through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) processes are inherently compliant with national standards.

Conversely, the LTO will continue to strictly apprehend vehicles fitted with illegally assembled mufflers that do not adhere to DTI standards or lack essential emission control components like catalytic converters. These often produce excessive noise and harmful emissions, contributing to both noise and air pollution and violating existing regulations. The agency's objective is to ensure road safety, maintain public order, and protect environmental quality by curbing the use of non-standard, disruptive, and polluting vehicle accessories.

ON AFTER MARKET PIPES

One of the most memorable stops of the Davao de Oro Motouride was the heartfelt hospitality of the people and officials of LGU Compostela.

As riders rolled in, we were welcomed not just with smiles, but with live music, energetic dancers, and free food β€” a celebration that instantly lifted the spirit of every tired rider on the road.

It was more than just a stopover. It was a reminder that in Compostela, guests are not just visitors β€” they are family.

Salamat, LGU Compostela, for the warm welcome and for making every rider feel the true spirit of Davao de Oro hospitality. πŸ™πŸοΈβœ¨

One of the unexpected highlights of the Davao de Oro Motouride was passing through the welcoming town of Maco.

As our engines hummed along the road to bid so long, we were greeted by a sight that instantly softened the rugged mood of the ride β€” Valentine’s decorations still proudly lining the streets. Hearts, colors of love, and festive ornaments were still up, as if the town was reminding everyone that love doesn’t end when February 14 passes.

For riders who had already traveled many kilometers, that simple display felt meaningful. Long-distance rides are often about endurance, discipline, and the thrill of the open road. But in Maco, the message was different β€” the journey is also about the heart.

It spoke volumes about the romantic spirit of the local officials and the people of Maco. Their Valentine decorations were more than just seasonal dΓ©cor; they reflected a community that values warmth, affection, and human connection.

In many ways, it perfectly matched the spirit of the Motouride itself. Because beyond the engines, helmets, and kilometers, the ride is really about friendship, camaraderie, and shared passion among riders.

Passing through Maco reminded us that while motorcycles may run on fuel, journeys like this are powered by people β€” and sometimes, by love.

Thank you, LGU Maco, for the sweet reminder that even on a long and demanding ride, there’s always room for a little romance along the road.

From Mabini to Maco, hinay ra gyud akong dagan β€” mga 50-80 kph lang.

(didto me nag check-in)🀐🏍️

One of the most refreshing and memorable checkpoints of the Davao de Oro Motouride was at Magdagandang Falls in Monkayo.

Beyond the breathtaking beauty of the falls, riders were warmly welcomed by a live Indigenous Peoples (IP) band and vibrant IP dancers, proudly showcasing their culture and traditions. The music, the rhythm, and the smiles created an atmosphere that made every rider feel truly honored.

With nature’s beauty and the rich culture of the community combined, the stop at Magdagandang Falls became more than just a checkpoint β€” it became a celebration of heritage and hospitality.

Thank you for the warm welcome! 🏍️🌿

Some places welcome you…
But some places embrace you.

That is what we felt when the riders of the Davao de Oro Motouride reached the beautiful municipality of Maragusan.

Nestled in the mountains, Maragusan did not just greet us with scenery, but with culture, pride, and genuine warmth. The sounds of music, the movements of dancers, and the smiles of the people reminded us that this town is truly the heart of Davao de Oro’s rich heritage.

For riders who spent hours on the road, Maragusan was more than a stop β€” it was a moment of connection between travelers and a community proud of its roots.

To the people and leaders of Maragusan, thank you for welcoming us with such grace and pride.
Your mountains are beautiful… but your hospitality is even greater. πŸοΈπŸ’š
