ARANETA CITY, — The most prestigious beauty pageant in the Philippines has officially begun its quest for the next set of Filipina queens.

Reigning Binibining Pilipinas International 2025, Katrina Anne Johnson, took to social media to share the exciting news, encouraging aspiring candidates to take their "leap of faith." Johnson, a licensed pharmacist from Davao who made history as the city's first titleholder, will represent the country at the Miss International 2026 pageant.

Following the submission deadline, the high-stakes Final Screening is scheduled for March 23, 2026, where the official roster of candidates for the 2026 season will be determined.

Under the theme , the organization is looking for women who embody "strength, intelligence, and purpose-driven leadership." This year's winners will follow in the footsteps of Johnson and Annabelle Mae McDonnell (Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2025) as they carry the Philippine flag on the global stage.

At 9:43 a.m. today, October 10, the ground beneath Mindanao shook violently, sending waves of fear across the island. Walls cracked, buildings swayed, and hearts raced as Cotabateños once again felt the earth rumble—a haunting reminder of the devastating quakes of 2019.

Back in October 2019, Cotabato endured a relentless series of shallow quakes: a magnitude 6.3 on October 16, twin tremors of 6.6 and 6.1 on October 29, and another 6.5 on October 31. The earthquakes left deep scars—on the land, on homes, and in the hearts of those who lived through them.

This time, a powerful magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck Davao Oriental, sending shockwaves across Mindanao. In Cotabato, the shaking brought more than fear—it awakened memories of sleepless nights, of aftershocks that seemed endless, of stories of loss and resilience.

Six years later, in the same month, the island trembles again. The earth reminds its people that some wounds, though unseen, never truly fade. Even after years of rebuilding, Mindanao still listens—still remembers—the voice of the trembling ground.
