When the Habagat arrives, the land begins to change.
Creeks swell beyond their banks and become rivers.
Rice fields disappear beneath a shimmering blanket of water, becoming lakes beneath the monsoon sky. ๐ง๏ธ๐พ๐
And while the rains may bring hardship to some, there are others who welcome the abundance.
The kalabaw, the Philippine water buffalo, simply settles into the water, cool and unbothered, as though this temporary lake was made just for him. ๐
This is the rhythm of the Philippine countryside.
The rain falls.
The creeks awaken.
The fields become lakes.
And the kalabaw remembers what abundance feels like.
The Habagat can be fierce, but it is also life-giving... filling the waterways, feeding the soil, and transforming the landscape beneath the endless rain. ๐ต๐ญ๐ง๏ธ
