Scheduled power interruption affecting the entire Surigao del Norte and portions of Surigao del Sur on Saturday, 2 August 2025.

Time: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (12 hours)

Affected:

• SURNECO (entire franchise area)

• SIARELCO (entire franchise area)

• SURSECO 2 (Carrascal and Madrid Substations) - CarCanMadCarLan towns only

Reason: Technical upgrading activities at NGCP Placer Substation and ride-on maintenance repairs of its associated transmission line structures.

Specific affected areas are determined by the electric cooperatives. NGCP will exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled.

Ang maong resolusyon gisang-at sa Komitiba sa mga Balaod, Ordinansa ug Legal nga mga Butang nga gipangulohan ni Board Member Victor F. Bernal.

KANHING GOBERNADOR SA SURIGAO DEL NORTE FRANCISCO MATUGAS, GIPASAKAN UG KASO SA PAGDIVERT SA P60-M NGA PONDO PARA SA KALAMIDAD

Manila, Pilipinas – Gipasakaan ug kasong technical malversation ang kanhi gobernador ug karon nga kongresista sa unang distrito sa Surigao del Norte nga si Francisco Matugas, human siya masangkot sa pagbalhin ug paggamit sa P60 milyones nga calamity fund sa tuig 2022.

Base sa 35-ka panid nga resolusyon nga gipagawas sa Office of the Ombudsman niadtong Hunyo 24, 2025, wala’y ordinansa nga nagtugot kang Matugas sa pag-augment ug pagbalhin sa maong pondo gikan sa Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (PDRRM) Fund ngadto sa mga buhatan sa Department of Education (DepEd) sa Surigao del Norte.

Iban isab sa kaso si Ma. Myrla Padayhag, ang kanhing provincial budget officer.

Matud sa Ombudsman, ang P60 milyones gigamit sa pagpalit ug mga learning materials nga may kalabutan sa Disaster Risk Reduction – Climate Change Adaptation (DRR-CCA), ug sa ubang supplementary materials.

Giingon sa imbestigasyon nga ang P20 milyones nga gigahin unta para sa disaster preparedness ug response, gibaylo ug gamit ug gibalhin ngadto sa DepEd Surigao del Norte. Laing P50 milyones ang gibahin ngadto sa tulo ka DepEd divisions — apan ang kasong gipahamtang lang sa pondo nga gibalhin sa DepEd Surigao del Norte ug DepEd Siargao, tungod kay ang P10 milyones nga gihatag sa DepEd Surigao City Division wala magamit.

Nipahayag si Matugas ug si Padayhag nga nagtoo sila nga regular ug ubos sa maayong pagtuo ang ilang mga lihok.

Apan giinsistir sa Ombudsman nga ang paggamit sa pondo nga lahi sa orihinal nga katuyoan, bisan pa ug walay dautang tuyo, usa na kini ka kalapasan sa balaod.

Ang reklamo batok kanila gisang-at ni Oscar Pospia Jr., Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO), niadtong 2023.
