📢 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆

In response to the prolonged drought caused by El Niño, which continues to affect Surigao City and nearby areas, the Surigao Metropolitan Water District (SMWD) will implement a water supply scheduling scheme starting August 26, 2026 to ensure the equitable distribution of limited water resources.

Under the new schedule, water availability will rotate across various barangays, with residents experiencing varying durations of water supply, low water pressure, or temporary interruptions depending on their location and elevation. Most areas will be managed through a valve adjustment system.

The water scheduling scheme is part of SMWD’s efforts to maximize available resources and support the community during these challenging times. We encourage everyone to cooperate by conserving water and staying informed about the schedule.
