πŸ“– THE DANGER OF A CULT-LIKE CHURCH

β€œStand Fast in the Liberty of Christ”
πŸ“– Galatians 5:1 | 2 Timothy 2:15

INTRODUCTION

In this Dispensation of Grace, God is not building a religious system centered on men. He is building the Body of Christ centered on the Lord Jesus Christ through the gospel of grace revealed to Paul (1 Cor. 15:1-4).
A cult-like church often replaces Christ with human authority, replaces grace with control, and replaces Scripture with traditions of men.

Paul warned:
β€œFor they seek not your good, but they would exclude you...” (Gal. 4:17)
The believer must learn to distinguish between biblical leadership and spiritual manipulation.

1️⃣ EXALTED LEADER
The Leader Becomes Untouchable
πŸ“– 1 Timothy 5:20-21

A. Above Accountability
The leader refuses correction.
B. Beyond Examination
Questions are viewed as rebellion.
C. Before Christ
The leader's word carries more weight than Scripture.
Dispensational Application
Paul instructed believers to follow him only as he followed Christ (1 Cor. 11:1).
Illustration
A healthy pastor points people to Christ. A cult leader points people to himself.

2️⃣ ERODED AUTHORITY
The Bible Is No Longer Final Authority
πŸ“– 2 Timothy 3:16-17

A. Human Traditions Replace Scripture
B. Private Revelations Override Scripture
C. Organizational Rules Supersede Scripture
Dispensational Application
The Body of Christ stands upon God's written Word rightly divided (2 Tim. 2:15).

3️⃣ ENSLAVING FEAR
Fear Is Used To Control People
πŸ“– Romans 8:15

A. Fear of Leaving
B. Fear of Questioning
C. Fear of God's Judgment
Dispensational Application
Believers have received liberty in Christ, not bo***ge.

B. Former Members Are Vilified
C. Critics Are Automatically Evil
Dispensational Application
We test doctrine, not attack people.

A fortress mentality isolates people from truth.

6️⃣ ENCROACHING CONTROL
Personal Life Is Controlled
πŸ“– Colossians 2:20-23

A. Relationships Are Controlled
B. Finances Are Controlled
C. Decisions Are Controlled
Dispensational Application
The believer answers ultimately to Christ.

Spiritual guidance is not spiritual ownership.

7️⃣ EXCLUSIVE SALVATION
Salvation Is Tied To The Group
πŸ“– Ephesians 2:8-9

A. Membership Equals Salvation
B. Leaving Equals Damnation
C. Loyalty Equals Acceptance
Dispensational Application
Salvation is through faith in Christ's finished work, not church membership.

The ark was Christ, not a denomination.

8️⃣ EXPLOITED GUILT
Guilt And Shame Become Weapons
πŸ“– Romans 8:1

πŸ”Ÿ EXALTING MAN OVER MESSIAH
The Leader Is Glorified Above Christ
πŸ“– Colossians 1:18

A. Leader's Name Is Promoted
B. Leader's Words Are Magnified
C. Leader's Approval Is Sought More Than Christ's
Dispensational Application
Christ alone is the Head of the Body.
πŸ“– Ephesians 1:22-23
Illustration
The moon shines only by reflecting the sun. A pastor should reflect Christ.

CONCLUSION

Paul warned the Ephesian elders:
πŸ“– Acts 20:29-30
False teachers and controlling leaders would arise, drawing disciples after themselves.

A biblical church:
βœ… Exalts Christ
βœ… Teaches Scripture
βœ… Preaches Grace
βœ… Protects Liberty
βœ… Encourages Berean Examination

A cult-like church:
❌ Exalts Men
❌ Controls People
❌ Distorts Scripture
❌ Produces Fear
❌ Replaces Grace With Bo***ge

πŸ“’ CALL TO ACTION

1. TRUST CHRIST ALONE
πŸ“– Ephesians 2:8-9
Believe the gospel of grace.
2. TEST ALL TEACHING

1️⃣ The Head Is Christ Alone

πŸ“– Eph. 1:22-23
β€œFor freedom Christ has made us free.” β€” Galatians 5:1 (KJV)
Final Warning: A true church points you to Christ. A cult-like church points you to itself. In the Dispensation of Grace, our authority is God's Word rightly divided, our message is Paul's gospel, and our Head is the Lord Jesus Christ alone. βœοΈπŸ“–

Text: Exodus 12:13; Romans 3:25; Ephesians 1:7
β€œWhen I see the blood, I will pass over you...” β€” Exodus 12:13

πŸ”° INTRODUCTION

One of the greatest pictures of salvation in all the Bible is the Passover. God did not examine the people inside the house to determine whether they deserved deliverance. He looked for the blood on the doorposts.

From a Dispensational truth, the Passover was part of God's prophetic program with Israel, but it beautifully illustrates a timeless truth: salvation has never been based on human merit but on God's provided sacrifice.

Today, members of the Body of Christ are not saved by animal blood, religious works, water baptism, church membership, or personal righteousness. We are saved by faith in the finished work of Christ and His precious blood.
πŸ“– Ephesians 1:7 β€œIn whom we have redemption through his blood...”

πŸ“– Exodus 12:5
The lamb had to be without blemish.
It pictured Christ's perfection.
God demanded a worthy sacrifice.
B. A Sacrificial Lamb Was Slain
πŸ“– Exodus 12:6
Death was necessary.
Blood had to be shed.
Judgment required payment.
C. A Saving Lamb Was Seen

God looked for the blood.
The blood provided protection.
Deliverance came through faith.

πŸ“– Romans 8:1
No condemnation.
No fear of judgment.
No loss of salvation.
πŸ–Ό Illustration: A rescued person praises the rescuer, not himself.

🎯 CONCLUSION

The Passover blood on the doorposts was never about the worthiness of the people inside. It was about God's provision outside.
Likewise, God does not save us because we are good enough. He saves us because Christ's blood is sufficient.

In the Dispensation of Grace, our confidence is not in our church attendance, baptism, morality, or performance. Our confidence rests entirely in the finished work of Christ.
πŸ“– Romans 5:9 β€œBeing now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

πŸ“– THE ENEMY'S STRATEGY AGAINST GOD'S WORD

🎯 INTRODUCTION

From the very beginning, Satan's attack was never primarily against man's behaviorβ€”it was against God's Word. Before Eve sinned, she first questioned what God said. The same strategy continues today.

In this Dispensation of Grace, Satan still attacks the authority, accuracy, and application of God's Word, especially the Pauline revelation committed to the Body of Christ.
πŸ“– Genesis 3:1 – "Yea, hath God said...?"
πŸ“– 2 Corinthians 4:3-4
πŸ“– 2 Timothy 2:15

Main Truth: Satan attacks doctrine before conduct, belief before behavior, and truth before testimony.

1️⃣ QUESTIONING THE SCRIPTURES
"Doubt Begins with a Question"
πŸ“– Genesis 3:1

A. The Serpent Challenged God's Word
πŸ“– Genesis 3:1
Instead of attacking Eve directly, Satan attacked God's authority. He introduced uncertainty.
B. The Skepticism Continues Today
πŸ“– Psalm 11:3
Modern religion often asks, "Did God really mean that?"
C. The Solution is Confidence in Scripture
πŸ“– 2 Timothy 3:16-17
The believer must stand on God's preserved and inspired Word.
Illustration:
A house built on sand collapses when storms come. A life built on opinions collapses when trials come.

2️⃣ CORRUPTING THE SAYINGS
"Error Enters Through Alteration"
πŸ“– Genesis 3:2-3

A. Eve Added to God's Word
πŸ“– Genesis 3:3
God never said "neither shall ye touch it."
B. False Religion Adds Traditions
πŸ“– Mark 7:13
Traditions often replace Scripture.
C. Grace Believers Must Rightly Divide
πŸ“– 2 Timothy 2:15
Confusion comes when God's instructions are mixed.
Illustration:
A pharmacist who changes a prescription can harm a patient.

3️⃣ CONTRADICTING THE SAVIOUR
"Satan Says the Opposite"
πŸ“– Genesis 3:4

A. God Said "Die"
πŸ“– Genesis 2:17
B. Satan Said "Not Die"
πŸ“– Genesis 3:4
The devil's first sermon contradicted God.
C. Error Still Denies Divine Truth
πŸ“– 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
False teachers often appear spiritual while opposing truth.

Counterfeit money looks genuine but has no value.

4️⃣ COVETING THE SENSUAL
"Lust Follows Doubt"
πŸ“– Genesis 3:6

A. She Saw It Was Pleasant
πŸ“– Genesis 3:6
The flesh became the guide.
B. Desire Replaced Doctrine
πŸ“– James 1:14-15
Lust grows when truth is ignored.
C. Grace Teaches Self-Control
πŸ“– Titus 2:11-12
God's grace teaches believers to deny ungodliness.

A fisherman uses bait because he knows what attracts the fish.

5️⃣ CHOOSING SELF OVER SCRIPTURE
"Disobedience Follows Deception"
πŸ“– Genesis 3:6

A. Eve Took
πŸ“– Genesis 3:6
B. Adam Followed
πŸ“– Romans 5:12
Sin entered through Adam's deliberate choice.

πŸ“– Romans 5:12
B. Death Passed Upon All Men
πŸ“– Romans 5:12
The curse affected all humanity.
C. Christ Provided the Cure

One drop of poison contaminates an entire glass of water.

7️⃣ CHERISHING THE SCRIPTURES
"Victory Comes Through God's Word"
πŸ“– Colossians 3:16

A. Know It
πŸ“– Psalm 119:105
The Word gives direction.
B. Believe It
πŸ“– John 8:31-32
Truth produces liberty.
C. Obey It
πŸ“– James 1:22
Knowledge without obedience produces deception.
Illustration:
A map only helps the traveler who follows it.

πŸ”₯ CONCLUSION

The devil's strategy has never changed:
➑️ Question God's Word
➑️ Create Doubt
➑️ Encourage Disobedience
➑️ Produce Sin

But God's answer has never changed either:
➑️ Know the Truth
➑️ Believe the Truth
➑️ Obey the Truth

In the Dispensational understanding, Satan especially opposes the revelation of the Mystery committed to Paul because it reveals the riches of God's grace and the formation of the Body of Christ.
πŸ“– Ephesians 3:8-9 πŸ“– Colossians 1:25-27 πŸ“– 2 Timothy 2:15

πŸ“£ CALL TO ACTION

β€œThankful That Jesus Died for a Sinner Like Me”
Text: Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 2:8-9

πŸ“œ INTRODUCTION

One of the dangers in the Christian life is spiritual pride. Some believers begin to think they are better than others because of their knowledge, service, or standards. However, the Apostle Paul never gloried in himselfβ€”he gloried in Christ and His finished work.

From a Dispensational truth, we understand that salvation is not earned by law-keeping, religious rituals, or personal goodness. We are saved solely by the grace of God through faith in the gospel revealed to Paul (1 Cor. 15:1-4).
The believer should never say, "Look how good I am," but rather, "Look how good Christ is!"

A thankful Christian remembers his past condition.

A. Dead in Sin

We followed the course of this world.
C. Deserving of Wrath

As Christ forgave us.
B. Serve Others
πŸ“– Galatians 5:13
Grace produces service.
C. Encourage Others
πŸ“– 1 Thessalonians 5:11

🎯 CONCLUSION

The Christian life is not about proving we are better than others.
It is about proclaiming:
Christ died for me.
Christ saved me by grace.
Christ keeps me secure.
Christ deserves all glory.
Paul declared:
πŸ“– Galatians 6:14 "But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ..."
The Mid-Acts believer understands that salvation is entirely a work of God's grace through the finished work of Christ.

β€œPrices Go Up, Income Stays Small, But God Still Provides”

Text: Philippians 4:19
β€œBut my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

πŸ”° INTRODUCTION

We live in difficult times. Prices increase, salaries seem insufficient, and economic uncertainty surrounds us. Yet as members of the Body of Christ, we do not live by fear but by faith. In the Dispensation of Grace, God has not promised earthly prosperity to every believer, but He has promised faithful provision for our needs as we serve Him.

Paul himself experienced lack and abundance (Philippians 4:11-13), yet he learned to trust Christ in every circumstance.

The question is not, β€œWill prices rise?” The question is, β€œWill God remain faithful?” The answer is a resounding YES!

1️⃣ THE PROMISE OF HIS PROVISION
β€œGod Supplies What He Purposes”
πŸ“– Philippians 4:19

A. His Provision Is Personal
πŸ“– β€œMy God shall supply...”
Paul points believers to his God.
God knows every individual need.
His care is personal, not general.
B. His Provision Is Practical
πŸ“– β€œ...all your need...”
God promises needs, not greed.
He provides necessities for service.
He sustains believers daily.
C. His Provision Is Plentiful
πŸ“– β€œ...according to his riches in glory...”
God's resources never diminish.
Heaven never experiences inflation.
His riches exceed earthly shortages.

2️⃣ THE POWER OF HIS PRESENCE
β€œGod Stays When Others Leave”

πŸ“– β€œI will never leave thee...”
Circumstances change.
God's presence remains.
Believers are never abandoned.
B. His Presence Is Comforting
πŸ“– Romans 8:38-39
Nothing separates us from Christ.
Financial troubles cannot remove His love.
Grace sustains the believer.
C. His Presence Is Courage-Giving
πŸ“– Hebrews 13:6
We can boldly trust Him.
Fear loses its grip.
Confidence grows through faith.

A. Peace Replaces Panic
πŸ“– β€œBe careful for nothing...”
Anxiety accomplishes nothing.
Prayer redirects our focus.
Faith overcomes fear.
B. Peace Rules the Mind
πŸ“– β€œThe peace of God...”
God's peace surpasses logic.
It calms troubled thoughts.
It stabilizes believers.
C. Peace Guards the Soul
πŸ“– β€œShall keep your hearts and minds...”
God protects inwardly.
The battle begins in the mind.
Peace becomes a spiritual shield.
πŸ–Ό Illustration: A fortress protects citizens during a storm.

4️⃣ THE PATH OF HIS PROVISION

πŸ“– THINGS THE HOLY SPIRIT DOES FOR THE BELIEVER

Text: Romans 8:9-16; Ephesians 1:13-14; Titus 3:5-6

🎯 INTRODUCTION

The Holy Spirit is often misunderstood because many believers fail to rightly divide the Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15). In the Dispensation of Grace, the Holy Spirit works differently than He did under Israel's Kingdom Program.

Under the Law and Kingdom Program, the Spirit came upon people for service and could depart (Psalm 51:11). But today, in the Body of Christ, every believer is permanently indwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit the moment he trusts the Gospel of Grace (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 1:13).

The Holy Spirit is not merely an influence; He is God living in every saved believer.
Today we will examine 7 ministries of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Body of Christ believer.
