The older I get, the more I realize that peace is more valuable than constantly trying to fit in everywhere.
There was a time when I thought life always had to be loud, always being surrounded by people, always saying yes, always trying to belong somewhere. But lately, I’ve been learning that some of the most meaningful moments in life happen quietly. Long walks, biking alone, sitting with your thoughts, journaling, spending time in nature, slowing down, and finally listening to yourself instead of the noise around you.
I think a lot of people lose themselves because they spend so much time trying to become who others expect them to be. And when you don’t fully know yourself yet, it becomes easy to let other people’s opinions define you. But as I continue growing, I’m realising how important it is to truly understand yourself, your values, your energy, your dreams, the kind of life you genuinely want, and the kind of environments that make you feel emotionally safe.
I’ve also learned that growth is not about becoming perfect. I’ve made mistakes too. I’ve reacted from hurt before, stayed in situations too long, and ignored my own intuition just to keep certain connections. But healing teaches you to become more self-aware, more intentional, and more honest with yourself.
These days, I value peace differently. I enjoy calm conversations, genuine people, meaningful moments, and living a slower life that feels aligned with who I really am becoming. I no longer feel the need to constantly explain myself or force connections that don’t naturally feel right.
And honestly, I think one of the greatest forms of self-love is creating a life that feels peaceful to your mind, your heart, and your soul.
Not every season of life is meant to be loud. Some seasons are meant to help you find yourself again. 🍀
