UPDATE!! Pinukpuk, Kalinga – A Significant Blow to Insurgency as Government Forces Seize High-Value Items

In a major victory against insurgency, government troops in Pinukpuk, Kalinga, have successfully recovered a substantial cache of high-powered fi****ms, ammunition, and other war materials. The operation targeted members of Platoon Dos of the CPP–NPA Ilocos Cordillera Regional Committee, resulting in the seizure of five high-powered fi****ms, a gr***de, assorted ammunition, bandoliers, medical supplies, medicines, an NPA flag, jungle packs, backpacks, and various kitchen utensils.

The recovered items were meticulously inspected by Maj. Gen. Gulliver Señires, Commander of the 5th Infantry Division, and Brig. Gen. Rheynante M. Salvador PA at the 103rd Infantry “Mabalasik” Battalion headquarters in Kapanikian, Camalog, Pinukpuk. This inspection underscores the importance of the operation and the military's commitment to securing the region.

During the encounter, two brave soldiers sustained injuries but are now reported to be in stable condition, a testament to their courage and the effectiveness of the military's response. Additionally, the body of an NPA member, who was slain in Barangay Allaguia last Sunday, was respectfully turned over to his family with the support of the provincial government, highlighting a commitment to humane treatment even in conflict situations.

This successful operation marks a significant blow to the CPP-NPA's operations in the Ilocos Cordillera region and reinforces the government's resolve to maintain peace and order in the area.
