Unscheduled Power Interruption

Date: Monday July 27, 2026

Time of Interruption: 7:21 PM

Areas Affected:

Entire KAELCO Service Area

Cause:

Severe weather conditions caused a persistent fault on the system, tripping the main 69kV circuit breaker.

Current Status:

Initial restoration attempts were unsuccessful as the breaker tripped again, indicating an active fault on the line. For safety reasons, comprehensive line patrols and fault finding will begin as soon as weather conditions stabilize. Crews are currently on standby to inspect distribution lines and equipment.

Safety Reminder:

Please consider all power lines and equipment ENERGIZED at all times. Power may be restored without prior notice once line patrol, clearing and necessary repairs are completed.
