Today marks the 30th of Flores de Mayo, and with it, we celebrate the most awaited and grandest part of this Marian devotion—the Santacruzan.

The Santacruzan is a religious-historical procession that commemorates the finding of the True Cross by Queen Helena (Reyna Elena), the mother of Roman Emperor Constantine the Great. During the Santacruzan, we witness a procession of beautifully dressed "sagalas" or queens, each representing different titles of Mary or virtues of the Christian faith.
