Many people find founders more relatable than CEOs.
While the CEO title defines their role, it often creates distance with colleagues.
CEOs can be seen as out of touch, which affects how people treat them and how they respond.
There’s this belief that CEOs are:
→ Too busy to speak,
→ Difficult to approach, and
→ Only care more about their business over people.
As a result, others may avoid, resent, or distance themselves.
But when you shift from "CEO" to "Founder," it changes the dynamic. The title feels more grounded—no level of status quo, no ceiling.
It tells a story of resilience, vision, and personal grit.
Your colleagues will begin to see you as connected to the journey and invested in the business and its people.
The title change made you appear more human, though, in actuality, your behavior, values, and beliefs hadn't changed at all.
