𝗦𝗦𝗖𝗧𝗜 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿

The St. Scholastica's College Tacloban, Inc. (SSCTI) community joined together as one for the First Friday Holy Mass at St. Ottilien Hall, October 3, 2025.

Presided by Rev. Fr. Michael Kirby A. Lauron, the homily was not merely about rejection, but by changing without any regret as he quoted, "Conversion starts when you stop making excuses."

The commitment to express gratitude for the protection and guidance given throughout the past week was reflected in the collaboration of the Benedictine Sisters, technical crew, singers, and Rev. Fr. Lauron.

The eucharistic celebration inspired everyone in the SSCTI community to grow in faith and live the Benedictine values of prayer, work, and change with a sincere heart.

In culmination for the students' hard work and dedication, St. Scholastica's College Tacloban Inc. (SSCTI) Basic Education Department (BED) High school (HS) Unit celebrated the month of wonder and knowledge with the theme "𝑺𝑪𝑰-𝑴𝑨𝑻𝑬𝑪𝑯 𝑭𝑶𝑹 𝑨𝑳𝑳: 𝑶𝒏𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚" at St. Ottilien Hall, September 30, 2025.

The Basic Education Department – Junior High School (BED-JHS) of St. Scholastica’s College Tacloban, Inc. (SSCTI) proudly held the 𝑮𝒊𝒏𝒐𝒐 & 𝑩𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝒈𝒉𝒂𝒎 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒕 as one of the highlights of this year’s Sci-MaTech Month celebration with the theme "SCI-MATECH FOR ALL: Onward to Innovation and Sustainability" at the St. Ottilien Hall, September 30, 2025.

The event kicked off with an energetic performance by the Indak Dance Troupe, setting an exciting atmosphere for the audience.

Afterwards, the candidates walked to the spotlight for their self-introductions, marking the start of the much-awaited competition.

Each segment of the pageant showcased the candidates’ wit, creativity, and advocacy—from the Question and Answer portion where they shared insights on Science, Math, and Technology, to the Talent Presentation that highlighted their diverse skills.

One of the most awaited highlights of the event was the “Eco-Formal Fashion Show”, where the candidates presented attires made from recyclable materials—reflecting innovation, stewardship, and sustainability.

The Ginoo & Binibining Agham 2025 ended with applause and inspiration, leaving a strong message that brilliance shines the brightest when matched with heart, courage, and a passion for learning!

𝗦𝗦𝗖𝗧𝗜 𝗕𝗘𝗗-𝗦𝗛𝗦 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗰𝗶-𝗠𝗮𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 2025

To celebrate the culminating activity of Sci-MaTech Month 2025, St. Scholastica's College Tacloban Inc's. (SSCTI's) Basic Education Department (BED) Senior High School (SHS) Unit conducted the Sci-MaTech Exhibition 2025 Season 5 Special Edition–showcasing the students' sustainable eco-robots at St. Benedict grounds, September 30, 2025.

The Eco-Robot challenge demonstrates the students' creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while promoting sustainability, highlighting the theme "SCI-MATECH for All: Onward to Innovation and Sustainability".

The activity began with a welcoming message from Mr. Rico D. Cornejo, LPT, High School Academic Coordinator, who then presented the event's guidelines and criteria.

It was then followed by an introduction to the evaluators, moving forward with the presentation of each group.

The 13 groups were given five minutes for presentation and demonstration of the robot, and another five minutes for a Question and Answer (Q&A) session.

The program ended with Mr. Cornejo's closing remarks, followed by a photo opportunity together with the participants and evaluators.

𝐒𝐒𝐂𝐓𝐈 - 𝐁𝐄𝐃 𝐆𝐒 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐜𝐢-𝐌𝐚𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

To foster discovery for Science, Mathematics, and Technology, St. Scholastica’s College Tacloban, Inc.'s (SSCTI)’s Basic Education Department (BED) Grade School (GS) Unit, held the culminating activity of Sci-MaTech Month at St. Ottilien Hall, September 30, 2025.

The program formally began with an opening prayer led by Hanzel Sian E. Remetillia, a Grade 6 pupil, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem.

In her opening remarks, Sr. Mary Frances F. Dizon, OSB, BED Principal and School President asked, “Now, tell me, what is the meaning or definition of science, what do we do in science?”

Interactive games were a highlight of the day, including the TechnoBots Arena, where Mr. Jared R. Rodriguez, LPT, and Mr. Rodie Mark Anteja, LPT, challenged pupils with questions, rewarding those with correct answers.

Following a snack break, the event continued with engaging trivia questions to keep the pupils entertained.

The event proceeded with the awarding, giving of certificates and the announcement of winners of the different activities.

𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲, 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁

Every year, on 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟓, students from all around the world share the celebration of 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐃𝐚𝐲. From giving gifts, to letters, and even to chocolates, we students express our gratitude through these simple tokens of appreciation—or as we often call them, “remembrances.”

Furthermore, World Teachers’ Day was first implemented by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on October 5, 1994. This international day aims to recognize the vital role and countless contributions of teachers worldwide. A time we should commemorate our second parents, second family, and second home.

Beyond flowers and small offerings, this occasion stands as tribute to the 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, and 𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 made by educators who continue to shape and influence the minds and futures of younger generations. They are more than just mentors. They are teachers who serve as guiding lights to help us navigate the challenges of growing up while preparing us for the world ahead.

Teachers’ Day is not merely about gifts and greetings; it’s about 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. It is about acknowledging all the unseen efforts. In honoring our educators, we honor the foundation of learning and the lifeblood of every school community. And in doing so, we are reminded that 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣—𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒘𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆.

Students stand true and firm, standing side by side in unity as the sole product of what their educators have shaped them throughout the years. Because every learner is not just a result of knowledge, but the driving force that illuminates hope and inspiration to teachers.

Even with the hurdles faced by educators such as the sleepless nights and adhering to deadlines—𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 who continue to go above and beyond in pursuit of empowering learning. 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐃𝐚𝐲!

The program started off with the introduction, opening prayer, singing of the national anthem, then the welcoming remarks of Ms. Cale S. Rama, LPT, BED Student Activity Coordinator.

👑 Meet the 𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 of 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓!

The event unfolds this Tuesday, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟑𝟎, during the culminating programme of the 𝗦𝗰𝗶-𝗠𝗮𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 2025 with the theme SCI-MATECH FOR ALL: Onward to Innovation and Sustainability.

These young men and women from the Junior High School unit of St. Scholastica's College Tacloban, Inc. embody not only 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆 and 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆, but also the spirit of 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙨, 𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, and 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚.

𝗦𝗦𝗖𝗧𝗜 𝗚𝗜𝗬𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 7 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

To promote awareness on the harmful effects of bullying and help students learn ways how to prevent it, the GIYA Wellness Center, guidance office of St. Scholastica’s College Tacloban, Inc. (SSCTI), conducted a seminar about preventing bullying with the theme “Power for Empathy: Turn your Influence into Compassion” for Grade 7 students at the Computer Laboratory of St. Ottilien Building, September 12, 2025.

The program started with an opening remarks of Ms. Joyce Anne N. Montaño, LPT, High School (HS) Student Formation and Services Coordinator in which she highlighted the importance of addressing bullying and set the tone for the discussions that would be further explained throughout the seminar.

Afterwards, Ms. Lem Alexies Aniñon, GIYA Wellness Personnel, introduced the Resource Speaker, Ms. January Jeremy Justine D. Yanto, RPm, a Guidance Associate at Sacred Heart School Tacloban.

As the discussion began, Ms. Yanto addressed the different types of bullying such as physical, verbal, and cyberbullying as she also emphasized that bullying in any form is unacceptable, while sharing applicable ways on how students can respond and what steps to take or do when one is facing such situations.

Following this, was an open forum where students were able to express their concerns and thoughts about the topic, freely asking questions and sharing ideas with the resource speaker.

To acknowledge Ms. January’s presence and efforts, Ms. Aniñon proceeded with the giving of certificate to show appreciation and gratitude.

To officially end the program, Ms. Lem delivered her closing remarks, leaving the participants with a reminder to uphold respect and kindness within the school community as she also encouraged the students to carry insights they have gained.

The seminar made a lasting impact on the students’ lives, teaching them the importance of being mindful of their words and actions.

𝗕𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁

In celebration of SciMaTech Month, Wandering Minds hosted an Interactive Mobile Exhibit at St. Scholastica's College Tacloban, Inc. (SSCTI) for the Basic Education Department (BED) at St. Ottilien Hall and St. Benedict Building, September 10, 2025.

As the exhibit began, staff members guided the students to the different stations, highlighting the fusion of Science, Math and Technology.

These different stations displayed different posters, models, and infographics, designed to inspire curiosity about climate change, the different planets, and constellations.

The staff members showcased videos and presentations about the effects of human actions and natural phenomena in the Climate Change Station.

Students were taught about concepts of space such as asteroids, meteorites, comets, and how the Earth was formed.

An Artifical Intelligence (AI) robot named WaMi (Wandering Minds) demonstrated human-like movements like push-ups, sit ups, and yawning, showcasing what technology can do nowadays.

Telescopes were also used during the exhibit wherein the sun was visible in which students got the opportunity to observe the sun's structure and visible surface.

Afterwards, students went back to their classrooms with wonders in their minds, and new memories and experiences from the exhibit.
