- Ipinahayag ng DSWD na kasalukuyang may 600,000 pamilyang Pilipino na ang nakikinabang sa Walang Gutom Food Stamp Program, kung saan target maabot ang kabuuang 750,000 na pamilyang itinuturing na "food poor."

- Iniulat ng Social Weather Stations (SWS) na bumaba ang prevalence ng gutom mula 33.6% patungong 26.9% (pagbaba ng 6.7%) sa mga lugar na sakop ng Walang Gutom Program matapos ang wave two ng kanilang survey.

- Namahagi ang pamahalaan ng PHP 2,000 cash top-up para sa bawat benepisyaryo ng Walang Gutom program bilang karagdagang tulong sa ilalim ng UPLIFT assistance na inaasahang matatapos hanggang Agosto 14. Binigyang-diin nina Secretary Rex Gatchalian at Maria Yolanda Crisanto ng Globe na prayoridad ng programa ang mga buntis at lactating women upang labanan ang child stunting na nakakaapekto sa isa sa bawat apat (25%) na batang Pilipino.

- Ininspeksyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. noong Agosto 12 ang Baclaran River at Diokno Pumping Station upang personal na makita ang sitwasyon ng basura na nagdudulot ng pagbaha sa Metro Manila.

- Ipinag-utos ng Pangulo kina Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon at Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Don Artes ang agarang paglilinis at patuloy na desilting ng mga waterway sa ilalim ng Oplan Kontra Baha.

- Naitala ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ang koleksyong umabot sa higit PHP 2 trilyon mula Enero hanggang Hulyo 2026, na mas mataas ng PHP 102.6 bilyon kumpara sa parehong panahon noong 2025.

- Pinaplano ng DSWD ang pagpapalawak ng Walang Gutom Kitchens (soup kitchens) upang magkaroon ng anim na pasilidad ngayong taon, kabilang ang mga bagong bubuksan sa Caraga region at iba pang mga lugar na may mataas na insidente ng gutom.

- Iminungkahi ng DPWH ang pagpapatayo ng 16 na bagong evacuation centers ngayong 2026 at karagdagang 32 sa 2027 bilang bahagi ng implementasyon ng Ligtas Pinoy Act.

- Nagpaalala ang Department of Education (DepEd) sa mga pampublikong g**o na iwasan ang paggawa ng online content na gumagamit sa mga mag-aaral o lumalabag sa ethical standards ng kanilang propesyon.

- Binigyang-diin ni Undersecretary Claire Castro na ang iminumungkahing 2027 National Budget ay nakatutok sa edukasyon, imprastraktura, at social services tulad ng Walang Gutom project, taliwas sa mga kritisismong nagsasabing ito ay anti-poor.

The local government unit of Tabango in Leyte has expressed appreciation for the government’s Unified Package for Livelihood, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) program, which provides much-needed economic relief to vulnerable families and individuals.

The program, implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), provides financial aid to poor and near-poor households for a period of six months, to help beneficiaries cope with financial difficulties and rebuild their sources of income.

The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) in Eastern Visayas, through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), has recognized partner agencies, local government units, private organizations, and other stakeholders during the 38th National Disaster Resilience Month culminating activity held at Hotel Alejandro in Tacloban City on August 10.

The recognition of partners, whose sustained efforts contribute to strengthening disaster preparedness and resilience across the region, highlighted the importance of collective action in reducing disaster risks and protecting communities from the impacts of natural and man-made disasters.

In his message, OCD-8 Regional Director Erwin Rommel P. Lamzon, who is also the chairperson of the RDRRMC-8, commended partner agencies and other participants for demonstrating integrity, excellence, and commitment, emphasizing that the culmination is more than just a ceremony, but a celebration of a shared commitment to resilience.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has distributed 50 Class I Unified 911 emergency response motorcycles to Police Regional Office 8 to improve field mobility and operational readiness of tourist police units (TUPs) across the region.

The distribution, held at Camp Kangleon in Palo, Leyte, was led by DILG Secretary Jonvic C. Remulla and PBGen Jason L. Capoy, regional director of the Police Regional Office 8.
