In a region that has long stood at the frontline of climate disasters, young people in Eastern Visayas are stepping up, not just as survivors, but as active agents of change.

Jan Kairel Guillermo, the communications manager of UN Climate Change High-Level Champions, is soon enroute to Belém, Brazil together with other youth delegates from Leyte province’s first district to join the 30th United Nations Conference of Parties (COP 30).

There, Guillermo, together with other members of the Philippine delegation which forms part of YOUNGO — the official children and youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) — will continue to rally for their voices to be heard in the fight against climate change and call for stronger climate resilience efforts at the local and national levels.
