Eastern Vista’s creation – set at a time after super typhoon Haiyan’s devastation in the region on November 2013 – was inspired by stories and struggles of a people rising from disasters. In 2014, Eastern Vista has partnered with a church-based organization to co-produce the longtime radio program Lingganay han Kamatuoran, broadcasting weekly since 2003 in the Waray language.
