In character, there is excellence, and in excellence, there is purpose.
These were not just words idly spoken, but a pulse of message that beats through the veins of every LabHigh student during the celebrated R3CQ Day 2025 at SKSU Laboratory High School on the 9th of May 2025. Beneath the banners of Respect, Compassion, Camaraderie, Competence, and Quality, a quiet fire was lit, a day where values were spoken of, lived, breathed, and brought to life in full motion.
From the moment the gymnasium doors opened, the atmosphere shimmered with intention. No ordinary celebration was a declaration that we are more than students, we are citizens of values, warriors of virtue, and advocates for exemplary performance. Faces beamed with anticipation, and hearts thudded with the rhythm of unity. With each step they took, the LHS students carried the symbols of R3CQ not in their hands, but within their spirits.
The first echo of this spirit came through the powerful speeches of Dr. Roselyn M. Callixtro and Dr. May Nectar Cyrill L. Tabares, grounding the day in purpose. But it was more than words, albeit it was a call to action. A reminder that in every act of respect, in every flicker of compassion, in every gesture of camaraderie, we live out excellence. Then came the spark. The R3CQ Lecture, a flame lit as words cut through the usual air of routine, bringing with them a mirror for every listener to ask themselves. Are you living the values you were taught? Through reflection and realization, the students saw themselves not just as learners but as leaders.
As the hours turned, laughter and excitement engulfed the air, but the games that followed were no mere contests. They were crucibles of character. In every coordinated pass, in every helping hand, in every victorious cheer, and every respectful loss, the R3CQ values stood tall, silent, but undeniable. They ran across the court, they danced in the lines of each game, they breathed in between high-fives, cheers of โBato lang!โ, and respectful shoulder pats.
Yet even as medals were hung and cheers erupted, it wasnโt the prize that stirred the crowd, but the pride of having walked the path together. As the Kaagapay Officers handed out each token of achievement, they didnโt just recognize successโthey honored growth.
In the waning light of the day, when the stage dimmed and the air settled, there remained an afterglow, not of lights, but of learning, of living values out loud. It was more than an event. It was a legacy, a reminder that while the chairs may be stacked and the music silenced, the flame of R3CQ continues to burn in the actions and choices of each student, long after the celebration ends.
Every LabHigh student present to celebrate R3CQ Day didnโt come to belong.
They became.
