The Criminology Department of 𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮, 𝙄𝙣𝙘. conducted a 3-day Reception Rites that shaped and disciplined the 4th-year interns to become the best version of themselves.

Leading the event was Ma’am Sheikenah Jaireh C. Calsas, RCrim, MSCJE, together with the guest speaker, PMAJ Jon Van T. Langkit, Company Commander of the 43rd Special Action Force, 4th Special Action Battalion, along with his team.

Staying Safe in a Digital Age | CYBERCRIME SYMPOSIUM 2026👨‍💻📱💻

𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮, 𝙄𝙣𝙘. conducted a Cybercrime Symposium today, August 20, 2026, bringing students together to learn more about cybercrime, online safety, and responsible digital citizenship.

The symposium was headed by Engr. Marlo Fel C. Paradero, MIM. It featured insightful lectures from the Cybercrime Team, led by PMSg Eleonor M Castromayor, Assistant Team Leader/WCPD/Investigator PNCO, and PSSg Nelmar R Fajurado, Assistant PCR PNCO of Tacurong Police Station. The event was also graced by Pat Ernesto Jr. B Estrella, Assistant Investigator/Operations NCO; Pat Jeric N Aginensor, Assistant Investigator/Cyber Patroller PNCO.

More than just a lecture, the symposium served as a reminder that staying informed and responsible online is an important step toward creating a safer digital community.

The Southern Mindanao Institute of Technology, Inc. has become aware of a highly concerning social media post by one of our students that contains an alarming statement. We wish to clarify that the said post is not authorized or tolerated by the school administration.

The school has initiated an immediate formal investigation. While the incident occurred on a social media platform, SMIT maintains disciplinary authority over our students for such misconduct that violates school policies or affects the name of the Institution.

Rest assured that we will continue to implement necessary corrective measures to ensure the betterment of the SMIT community and to uphold the peace and order required for a productive learning environment.

We ask for the cooperation of our stakeholders as we handle this matter with utmost professionalism and ethical standards.

𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮, 𝙄𝙣𝙘. brought the magic of wild west to life during Acquaintance party held on August 7, 2026 at SMIT open-field.

The afternoon became more exciting as students showcased their amazing and creative wild west costumes. The crowd was energized by exciting vibes, music and dazzling lights.

The celebration is not only to showcase creativity but an opportunity to meet new faces and unforgettable experience.🍂🤎🤠
