Pre-Service Teachers Mark Milestone in Retrieval Program and Ring Hop Ceremony
The College of Education of Southern Mindanao Institute of Technology Inc. successfully held its Pre-Service Teachers Retrieval Program and Ring Hop Ceremony on April 11, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the SMIT Gymnasium. Guided by the theme “A Passage of Hope Towards Achieving the Ultimate Purpose,” the event marked a meaningful transition of pre-service teachers from learners to future mentors, symbolizing gratitude to the institution and readiness to serve in real classrooms.
Inspiring messages were delivered by alumni LET passers who shared their journeys toward success in the teaching profession. Among them were Ian Kristian D. Orbe, LPT, BSED Science Top 10; Chris John V. Planting, LPT, BSED Mathematics; and Armie Joy S. Vidal, LPT, BSED English. Their testimonies encouraged students to remain resilient, passionate, and faithful as they pursue their calling in education.
A heartfelt message was also shared by Ramelyn V. Usman, PhD, Principal II of San Emanuel National High School who reminded the future educators that teaching is a mission that shapes lives and communities. She emphasized dedication, compassion, and integrity as guiding principles for their journey, inspiring them to grow where they are planted and teach with purpose and heart.
As the ceremony came to a close, the ring hop stood as a powerful symbol of commitment, hope, and responsibility. With grateful hearts and determined spirits, these future educators now step forward carrying the values, knowledge, and dreams nurtured by their alma mater. May this milestone be a reminder that their journey does not end here but it only begins.
