Isang makamasang paaralan, bukás para sa lahat, ang patuloy na tinatangkilik ng mamamayan—
ang South Central Mindanao College of Science and Technology (SCMCST) sa lungsod ng Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat.
Kilala bilang institusyong may TESDA accreditation, ito’y umangat bilang isa sa mga pinilakang paaralan ng lalawigan.

Sa bawat taon ay lumalawak ang kanilang pangalan, kasabay ng pagtaas ng gusaling humahakbang sa bagong yugto—
ilang palapag, malawak ang compound, at masinop na iniinspeksiyon upang matiyak ang kalidad ng edukasyon.
Isang patunay na ang paaralang ito’y lumalago, lumalakas, at lumilingon sa pangangailangan ng masa.

Sa likod ng kaunlarang ito ay ang napakabait at iginagalang na Pangulo,
Ginoong Robert B. Batchar,
at ang kaniyang katuwang, ang Vice President,
Ginang Filipanas C. Batchar, Ph.D., LE—
mga haliging hindi lamang pinupuri, kundi minamahal dahil sa tahimik at maayos na pamamahala.
Sa kanilang liderato, walang commotion, walang reklamo, kundi ang tahimik na pagdaloy ng pagkatuto.

Dito, kumpleto ang mga kagamitan—mula sa iba’t ibang kurso na maaari ring magamit sa ibang bansa—
kaya’t libo na ang nakapagtapos, nagtagumpay, at lumipad patungo sa kani-kanilang pangarap.
Dahan-dahan man, ang pangalan ng SCMCST ay sumisikat, kaagapay ng ibang kilalang paaralan tulad ng SMITH
at iba pang institusyon sa Sultan Kudarat.

At ang pinakamaganda—
pang-masa, abot-kaya, at nasa puso mismo ng Tacurong City.

SUMALANGIT NAWA ANG KANYANG KALULUWA: PAGKAMATAY NI JOCRIS BARRUGA, HALIGI NG SK TRI-MEDIA AT PNP PRESS CORPS, IKINALUNGKOT NG MARAMI pagpanaw ni Jocris Barruga, Publisher ng Life Camera News sa Tacurong City, at isa sa mga haligi ng lokal na tri-media community.

Kinumpirma ang kanyang pagpanaw kahapon ng aking Publisher, si Ginoong Abdul Campua. Ayon sa paunang ulat, si Barruga ay binawian ng buhay dahil sa komplikasyon dulot ng mataas na presyon ng dugo (high blood) sa Tumbok Hospital sa Tacurong City.

Lubos ang dalamhati ng kanyang mga kasama sa industriya, lalo na sa SK Tri-Media, dahil kilala si Barruga bilang isang napakabait, masipag, at dedikadong miyembro ng grupo at ng PNP Press Corps.

Nagpapaabot ako ng taus-pusong pakikiramay at pakikidalamhati sa kanyang pamilya, mga kaibigan, at mga kasamahan sa media. Nawa’y pagpalain at paginhawain ng Poong Maykapal ang kanyang kaluluwa.

General S. K. Pendatun Honors Youth in Colorful State of the Children’s Address

GENERAL S. K. PENDATUN, Maguindanao del Sur — As the hometown of the country’s first Muslim senator, General S. K. Pendatun is known for having great leaders who truly care about their constituents. Therefore, in continuation of this legacy, the local government offered a joyful celebration for the youth, featuring Jollibee and other programs, led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Mielyn D. Ali this December 9 at the town’s Gymnasium.

In his message, Mayor Ali emphasized that, “the youth are one of the main hopes of the town,” which is why they are being provided with more programs that inspire and support them.

Youth Who Brought Honor, Honored

Recently, a youth competition called “Soulmate” was held in which five towns in Maguindanao del Sur — Paglat, Buluan, Datu Paglas, Pandag, and General S. K. Pendatun — participated. In the said competition, the youth from General S. K. Pendatun came out on top and won honors, which is why the LGU offered a special thank you to them.

Fun for Youth from 19 Barangays

More than 650 youth, along with their parents, attended the State of the Children’s Address, which was held for youth from 19 barangays. Due to the large number of participants, the program lasted until the afternoon.

Abundant Offerings and Programs

The highlights of the celebration were:

A performance by a champion magician, part of the “Iba’t Ibang Talento ng Pinoy” program

A dance by a Custom Jollibee performer who hails from Tacurong City

Opening of a well containing envelopes for mothers of daycare and elementary schools

Distribution of food packs

Raffles for residents

This brought great joy to the youth and their families.

MATYAKAP Government: Wholehearted Service

The success of the activity is rooted in the “MATYAKAP Government” program, which began during the time of former Municipal Mayor Hon. Datu Bimbo Pendatun Ali and is now being continued by Mayor Mielyn D. Ali, the wife of the former mayor.

The word MATYAKAP means “wholehearted service”, a symbol of a government that is always ready to sympathize and help its citizens even at night and even at the mayor’s own home.

Reconciliation between Both Groups of the 118th: Peace Resurfacing from Sitio Manggapang

Peace has been reaffirmed between two groups, both from the 118th and residents of Sitio Manggapang, Municipality of Mamasapano, Maguindanao del Sur. The two parties, who once had a conflict despite being from the same group and origin, were once again brought to reconciliation under the strong and loyal leadership of Base Commander Ustads Wahid Tundok.

The talks and signing of the agreement were held at the Extension Office of the Provincial Governor, in the Municipality of Talayan, Maguindanao del Sur, on Sunday, December 7, this year.

The reconciliation was carried out under the “Give a Hard Program,” an important initiative aimed at promptly resolving any conflict or dispute between families in the province. It was led by the Provincial Governor, Hon. Datu Kge Ali Midtimbang Al-Hadji, together with his diligent and valiant Attorney/Legal Adviser, Datubod D. Lauban, who also serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Maguindanao del Sur Provincial TWG on Peace and Reconciliation.

Led by Base Commander Ustads Wahid Tundok, both groups signed the agreement as proof of their sincere desire to put aside the conflict and embrace peace. The signing was conducted in the presence of Provincial Governor Hon. Datu Kge Ali Midtimbang Al-Hadji, who continues to lead in promoting unity and stability in the province.
