Fasting 6 Days of Shawwāl

ℹ️ Any 6 days from the Month of Shawwāl (other than 'Eid) can be fasted, however if one decides to fast on a Friday, then one must fast either Thursday or Saturday alongside it, as fasting a non-obligatory fast on a Friday is prohibited.

Also, one should make up any missed fasts from Ramaḍān first, before carrying out the 6 fasts of Shawwāl, according to the most correct position of the Scholars, and Allāh knows best.

The Recompense of An Evil is An Evil Like it

Be cautious of mockery, because it quietly reshapes how you see yourself and how you see others. When a person begins to feel superior, even subtly, mockery follows. Others are no longer viewed with fairness or mercy, but through a lens of fault-finding and contempt. What begins as “just a joke” can grow into belittling, dismissal, and a refusal to respect others or accept truth, simply because it comes from someone deemed “less.”

Mockery is often rooted in arrogance. It is like standing on a high place and laughing at those below, assuming they look small and insignificant. Yet the one mocking forgets that from their perspective, he too appears just as small - if not smaller. Whoever realises this, understands it, and witnesses it with his heart will know that Allah’s blessings upon His believing servant through tribulation are greater than His blessings in times of ease.

Wahb said:

"A man worshipped Allah for a long time, then a need arose for him before Allah. He fasted seventy Sabbaths, eating each Sabbath eleven dates, then asked Allah for his need, but it was not granted.

He then turned back upon himself and said: “From you I have been afflicted; had there been any good in you, your need would have been granted.”

At that moment, an angel descended to him and said: “Son of Adam, this very hour of yours is better than all your past worship, and Allah has already fulfilled your need.”

It is wise to marry someone close to your own age, as large age gaps can create difficulties. When an older man marries a much younger woman, it may place strain on her and on the marriage as a whole; she may feel unsettled, act unwisely, or even seek separation, and the imbalance can cause him significant emotional distress.

Likewise, a healthy marriage requires balance. A woman should neither overwhelm her husband with constant attention nor become so distant that their connection weakens. When she spends time with him, she should be clean, well-presented, and attentive to her appearance.

Both partners should also maintain modesty with one another and avoid unnecessarily exposing the entire body, as the human form is not always appealing and in shape.
