When the workforce of the Municipal Government of Tacurong started to grow, they realized the need to organize an association. This idea was conceived primarily to promote harmonious relationship between the management and rank and file, and further protect and uplift employees' rights and welfare. It was in 1975 that the association was formally organized and was named Tacurong Municipal Employee

s' Association (TAMEA). Its significant thrust occurred on 7 February 1991 when TAMEA officers decided to draft the 1st Constitution and By-Laws and was ratified on 27 August 1991 through a General Assembly. In order that this organization and operations be legalized, TAMEA was registered to the Security and Exchange Commission on 2 March 1992. Further, with the issuance of Section 7 and 8, Rule III of the Executive Order 180, TAMEA was registered to the Civil Service Commission and the Department of Labor and Employment on 21 July 2000 for accreditation. The name of the association was changed to Tacurong City Employees' Association (TACEA) when Tacurong was converted into a component city in 2000. On the same year, TACEA joined the Public Sector Alliance of SOCSKSARGEN (PSEAS) and became one of its founding members. In 2001, the association affiliated with the Confederation of Independent Unions (CIU) in the Public Sector whose membership covers associations/unions fro local government units/national agencies and GOCCs in the Philippines.

TACEA Finalizes "Candy Wonderland" Christmas Party; Mayor Pledges Full Support

Tacurong City – The Tacurong City Employees Association (TACEA) Executive and Council of Representatives (CORe) finalized plans for the highly anticipated 2025 Local Government Unit (LGU) Christmas Party and approved key measures for employee welfare, including an SSS voluntary deduction scheme and streamlined retirement benefits, during a committee meeting with City Mayor Lina O. Montilla, PhD.

The meeting, led by TACEA President Ms. Yvonne Bautista, locked in the details for the 2025 LGU CHRISTMAS PARTY. The celebration is scheduled for Friday, December 12, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the City Hall Grounds. The theme for this year's event is “Candy Wonderland: A Sweet Christmas Adventure.” Mayor Montilla expressed her full commitment to the event, ensuring a successful celebration for all city personnel.

In a move to enhance employee convenience, the body was informed that a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between TACEA and the Social Security System (SSS) is forthcoming, which will allow Regular and Casual Employees to opt for voluntary SSS contribution deductions directly from their salaries.

Furthermore, TACEA presented and secured approval for a proposal to streamline the collection of Advance Retirement Benefits by deducting the remaining amount from each employee's bonuses on an installment basis.

TACEA President Yvonne Bautista stated, “We are thankful that the City Mayor is fully supporting our association's activities, especially the Christmas Party, which is a highly anticipated event for our employees. Furthermore, the approved SSS MOA and the retirement benefits plan are testaments to TACEA's commitment to enhancing the welfare and convenience of all city government personnel.”

The MOA signing with the SSS is targeted to take place during a Monday Flag Raising Ceremony to ensure maximum visibility for the new employee benefit. Other matters discussed included the approval of a resolution naming Vice President Kadil as the Alternate Signatory for the association and an update on the Public Sector Employees Alliance of SOCCSKSARGEN (PSEAS).
