This Friday, takes on a whole new meaning: Thank God it’s ! 🌲🌳🍃

Forests take on a lot of roles for us. They provide food, shelter, raw materials for everyday items, help prevent erosion, act as a natural air conditioner during hot days, and the list goes on. With all these benefits, it is no no-brainer what we need to do: help keep our forests thriving!

Check out this message from ACB Acting Executive Director Clarissa Arida to learn more about the importance of the forests of the ASEAN to our survival and well-being!

White-bellied Woodpecker
Dryocopus javensis (italized)

Impressive large black woodpecker a white belly and pale eyes. Male has a bright red crest, whereas female has an all-dark one. Large size and mostly black plumage distinguishes this species from any other woodpecker in range. Gives a loud “kyick!” and a prolonged series of “keck” notes. Usually seen on or around tall dead trees both standing and fallen, either singly or in pairs.
