✨ A taste of Calgary’s Chinatown gem — Silver Dragon Restaurant
📍 106 3 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2G 0B6

We tried their famous ginger beef — crispy, sweet-spicy, and utterly addictive. It’s a must-try when you’re in Calgary!

A little backstory: Silver Dragon has been serving authentic Cantonese & Szechuan fare since 1966. Its founder, Jack Wong, came to Calgary in the 1950s and opened the restaurant at a time Chinatown was still growing. Over the years it’s become a beloved fixture in Calgary’s food scene — locals and visitors alike flock here for its huge menu (200+ dishes), dim sum cart service, and warm, family-run vibe.

Why it’s a top pick in Calgary:
• Deep roots in the city’s Chinese community and culinary history
• A massive, diverse menu that can satisfy any craving
• A classic “old-school” ambience with modern touches
• It’s in the heart of Chinatown — perfect stop when exploring the area

Swipe through our food shots, and don’t leave Calgary without trying that ginger beef!

📍 No. 1 Beef Noodle House – 4741 Willingdon Ave, Burnaby, BC

If you’re craving authentic Taiwanese comfort food, this spot has been a local favorite since the early 1990s. Known for bringing the taste of Taiwan straight to Vancouver, it’s one of the most popular Taiwanese beef noodle houses in the Lower Mainland. 🍜

We had the classics: their signature beef noodles with tender beef and rich, flavorful broth, the famous Taiwanese fried chicken that’s crispy and juicy, Yangchou fried rice, spicy chili wontons 🌶️, and a pork chop that’s perfectly seasoned.

👉 Whether you’re after bold flavors, big portions, or authentic Taiwanese vibes, this place hits all the marks. No wonder it’s called No. 1!

✨ Sun Mongolian BBQ Restaurant – Downtown Port Coquitlam ✨
Create your own bowl of flavor! 🥩🥦 Choose your meat, veggies, and sauces (don’t miss their recommended combos!) and watch as the chefs grill it fresh right in front of you 🔥🍜

A little history 📜: Mongolian BBQ was popularized in Taiwan in the 1950s and quickly spread worldwide 🌍. Despite its name, it’s not originally from Mongolia, but the style of grilling on a big, flat iron grill became a hit for its interactive and customizable dining experience.

Perfect spot for food lovers who want a meal made their way.

Today we had the blessing of attending Mass at Westminster Abbey in Mission, BC — a place of deep prayer, history, and beauty.

History & Meaning
Westminster Abbey (officially the Abbey of Saint Joseph of Westminster) is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1939 by monks from Mount Angel Abbey in Oregon.
It oversees the Seminary of Christ the King, which includes both a minor (high school) and a major (college) seminary.
In 1953 the priory was raised to the status of an abbey, and by 1954 it had moved to its current hilltop site overlooking the Fraser River valley near Mission.
The abbey lives out the Benedictine motto Ora et Labora (“Pray and Work”) — the monks maintain the liturgical prayer life, farm the land, teach, and welcome guests.

Walking through the church and being part of the liturgy was humbling — every stone, every fresco, the quiet, the scent of incense — all inviting reflection, awe, and gratitude.

So glad we could pause here, pray, and soak in the sacred.

“Found peace in the prayers and the beauty of Westminster Abbey, Mission 🕊️🙏"
