Who would have thought that my first year as an ARD would bring me such a remarkable and life-shaping journey? I never imagined how deeply this role — being like a second mother in every review, cheering, guiding, and witnessing every struggle and breakthrough — would touch my heart.

The memories we created, the laughter we shared, the late-night reviews, the tears, the friendships, and the unique bond we built — all of these will forever remain with me. From my very first “Hi everyone, I will be your ARD — your Powerhouse family.” to this moment where I proudly say “Congratulations everyone, you are now Registered Nurses — and we even produced a Topnotcher!” 🥹✨

My heart is overflowing with pride. You did it — not just because you were smart, but because you were dedicated, brave, and unstoppable. To my first ever batch, thank you for trusting me, for allowing me to guide you, and for bringing honor to our journey together — with a 100% passing percentage from two schools. What a history. What a blessing. What a family. 🤍

So I will no longer say “Hello Future RN” or “Few days left, future nurses…” because today, I say it with joy and full conviction:

CONGRATULATIONS, RNs!
You are now officially professionals — ready for bigger dreams, wider horizons, and a future filled with purpose.

And now, as we step into a new chapter, I want you to know this — I’ll surely miss you. Not just as students, but as people who became part of my life, my growth, and my heart.

This is not goodbye — just see you around, wherever destiny leads us next. My first batch will always have a special place in my heart. 🫶🏻

We, your Powerhouse Family, are so proud of you. Continue shining, continue caring, continue serving with compassion as the amazing RNs you were meant to be.

Love,
Ma’am Chu💙

Feeling Entitled si Sir!

While I was in Puregold buying some personal stuff, I noticed the grocery was very busy — full of groups, mostly students. I only had sanitary pads and a bottle of water with me. In front of me were people with many items, some even had 2–3 carts.

The person before me suggested we transfer to the priority lane since we had less than 10 items. We agreed, and since there were no seniors or PWDs waiting at that time, we lined up. Only two people were ahead of us, with about three carts in total.

Most of the people in groups were buying groceries for donations to the areas affected by the earthquake — that’s why they had so many items, and that purpose itself deserves understanding and respect.

But while waiting, seniors started arriving. Then one senior behind us began questioning people in line — asking me directly, “Are you pregnant?” and asking the person before me, “Sir, are you a senior?” His tone felt very insulting, as if we didn’t deserve to be there.

After he asked me, I decided to just transfer to another counter. Luckily, kuya from the next line helped me out and even let me go first since I only had a few items, while he had a lot.

What bothered me most was the senior’s sense of entitlement. Just because he’s a senior doesn’t mean he’s automatically “the most priority” above everyone else. The people in front of us had their own purpose, and many were helping earthquake victims — that’s something to respect too.

Honestly, I was so disappointed. He looked well-off, but the way he acted, it’s like he believed he was always right. Respect is not about age — it’s about character and how you treat other people.
