BUY-BUST YIELDS OVER PHP3.4M IN SUSPECTED SHABU IN CEBU CITY
Police operatives confiscated more than PhP3.4 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City, on the evening of April 23, 2025.
The operation was conducted at approximately 9:45 p.m. by personnel from Police Station 10 of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 7, that resulted in the arrest of the 26-year-old suspect, classified as a high-value individual (HVI),
Authorities recovered a total of seven sachets and plastic packs containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing approximately 510 grams with a standard street value of PhP3,468,000.
Also seized during the operation were a PhP1,000 bill used as marked buy-bust money and a black sling bag reportedly used to conceal the drugs. All items have been submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit 7 for laboratory analysis. The suspect is currently detained at the custodial facility of PS10 while the necessary charges are being prepared.
Police Regional Office 7 Regional Director PBGEN Redrico A. Maranan commended the team behind the operation, emphasizing the continued crackdown on illegal drugs in the region.
“This arrest is proof of our focused and relentless campaign against illegal drugs. The Police Regional Office 7 remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of every Filipino and we will not stop until the drug trade is dismantled at every level”, PBGen Maranan said. (PRO7-PIO)
