On March 17, 2026, Tagoloan Community College (TCC) actively participated in the nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill, an annual activity aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness across the country. The drill was conducted to educate students, faculty, and staff on proper safety procedures during earthquakes and to enhance the readiness of the school community in responding to natural disasters. Emphasizing practical learning, the activity allowed participants to apply safety protocols in a controlled, yet realistic, scenario that mirrors the challenges of real-life emergencies.
The Student Body Organization (SBO), together with the TCC Red Cross Youth (RCY), played a crucial role in the drill by serving as the search and rescue team. Under the guidance of SBO Governor Jassen J. Baranggot and RCY President Mr. Ronnel Salva, the student volunteers demonstrated proper first aid response and coordinated search operations within the campus. Their active participation ensured that the drill was carried out efficiently, highlighting the importance of teamwork, discipline, and quick decision-making during emergencies.
This hands-on involvement not only strengthened the studentsโ awareness of earthquake safety but also reinforced the schoolโs commitment to disaster preparedness. The collaborative effort between the SBO, RCY, and other participants showcased the proactive role of student leaders in promoting safety and resilience.
