🎄 WHISK’s Christmas Raisin Bread

🧺 Ingredients
0.25 oz active dry yeast
0.75 cup warm water
0.75 cup evaporated milk
0.33 cup sugar
0.33 cup shortening
0.5 tsp salt
2 large eggs
3–4 cups all-purpose flour (as needed)
1 cup mixed candied fruit
0.5 cup raisins
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup confectioners' sugar
0.25 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp milk
Extra candied fruit for garnish
🍞 Procedure:
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
Stir in evaporated milk, sugar, shortening, salt, eggs, and 2 cups of flour. Beat until smooth.
Fold in candied fruit, raisins, and cinnamon. Add enough remaining flour to form a soft dough (do not knead).
Transfer to a greased bowl, turning once to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, 1½ to 2 hours.
Punch down dough. Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 3–4 minutes.
Pat evenly into a greased 10-inch tube pan. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled, about 45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30–35 minutes, tenting with foil if browning too quickly.
Cool on a wire rack.
Mix confectioners' sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over cooled bread. Garnish with candied fruit.
