📍Punsand Bay Campground, Northen Peninsula Area 🏕️

~A popular destination located 5 km southwest of Australia’s northernmost point, The Tip (Pajinka), in Cape York Peninsula. It’s known for its beachfront camping sites, offering both powered and unpowered options. The campground provides amenities such as a swimming pool, restaurant/bar, kiosk, and tour desk. It’s pet-friendly, allowing pets on a leash, and campfires are permitted if firewood is collected on the way in.
~We got the spot which is good for 2 vehicles for $120 a night since it was during the peak season when the campground is fully booked. The standard rate for a powered campsite is approximately $34 per couple per night. The campground’s popularity is a testament to its quality and the unique experience it offers at the top of Cape York.

~Located on Deighton Road, the main street of Laura, next to the local General Store—making it a convenient stop for groceries and fuel.  ⛽️
~The campground sits behind the pub (formerly known as the Quinkan or Laura Hotel), nestled in a green and shady space ideal for tents, vans, and camper trailers.  
~Quiet and peaceful—set back from the main road, offering minimal traffic noise and a serene ambience.
