In an age where young Filipinos face the pressures of academic performance, career development, and personal well-being, Pamela Grace Natividad stands as a role model of balance and perseverance. Her ability to thrive amid these challenges embodies the resilience many aspire to in a country where opportunities are often met with adversity. Pamela’s commitment to growth reflects an indomitable youthful spirit—one that strives for success against all odds.
With passion in her eyes and each graceful stroke in the water, she pushes her limits. Her blue cap and dark goggles symbolize her unwavering focus and dedication. What began as a curiosity has evolved into an enduring passion, propelling her through the water with unstoppable drive and an electrifying dedication to excellence.
Currently a fourth-year Physical and Health Education student at the Philippine Normal University (PNU), Pamela balances her studies with her role as a dedicated member of the swimming team, now in her third year. Her background as a former news writer and radio broadcaster for The Pole adds to her diverse skill set.
At a young age, she successfully juggled journalism, pageantry, and academics. In high school, she thrived in journalism, reaching the Regional Schools Press Conference and earning several accolades in school pageants.
“Noong junior high school, naging managing editor ako ng school paper at taon-taon akong participant sa RSPC. Noong senior high school naman, broadcaster ako ng The Pole. Sa pageant, dalawang beses din akong sumali sa WBNHS at nakapag-uwi ng mga award. Bukod doon, puro academics at journalism lang talaga ako noong high school. Sa kolehiyo na ako nagkaroon ng sport,” Pamela stated.
Pamela serves as editor-in-chief of The Torch Unfold, the publication of the PNU varsity club. Despite academic and personal responsibilities, she continues to excel in swimming, winning a silver medal last year in the 4x50 women’s freestyle relay.
“Balancing my time is hard, so I barely have leisure time. Being an athlete is what I enjoy the most, even if it’s tiring and takes away my time to rest. Winning a silver medal last year in the 4x50 women’s freestyle relay was a significant achievement, especially since it was my first time competing,” she said.
A persistent Pamela stands amidst the echoes of praise and victory. She fulfills multiple roles as a diligent pharmacy assistant, ambitious student, and passionate athlete. Her determination enables her to embrace every role with purpose and poise, a testament to her resilience and unbreakable spirit.
“I’m a working student-athlete, so it’s pretty hard. I’m a regular student from Monday to Friday, and my training is on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for both water and land training. Then I work part-time as a pharmacy assistant during weekends,” Pamela proudly shared.
Pamela envisions a future where swimming transcends personal ambition, opening doors to broader opportunities. She aspires to pursue coaching and teaching, aiming for personal growth while inspiring young people to embrace resilience and grace.
“Before I graduate, I’ll try to land a job, just like my seniors did. After graduating, I’ll start working while studying and preparing for the LET, along with pursuing my master’s degree at PNU. Hopefully, the school where I’ll be teaching has a swimming team, so I can also coach,” she enthusiastically revealed.
Driven by an insatiable thirst for improvement, Pamela has no intention of resting on her laurels. Her passion and determination resonate with every splash of water, creating a symphony of dedication and resilience that inspires those around her.
