The Technological University of the Philippines - Taguig (TUP-T) successfully conducted its Pre-Planning Seminar: Budgeting and RA 12009 on July 8, 2025, at the Auditorium, IT Building. The event gathered staff, teaching faculty, USG representatives, and Artisan members for a full-day learning session on financial planning and modern procurement practices.
The morning session, led by Ms. Aileen A. Walath, Budget and Management Specialist II from DBM-NCR, covered essential topics like budgeting fundamentals, the budget cycle, and utilization trends. The afternoon session, facilitated by Mr. Al-Stephenson B. Lapastora from TUPTEA, focused on RA 12009, highlighting electronic procurement and new procurement modes.
The program began with remarks from Engr. Rexmelle F. Decapia, Jr., PhD. After the sessions, an open forum allowed participants to engage with the speakers, followed by certificate awarding for the resource speakers. The afternoon segment included a statement of purpose by Dr. Norway J. Pangan and concluded with closing remarks from Engr. Glenn N. Ortiz, PECE, ASEAN Eng, emphasizing the importance of compliance with up-to-date procurement laws.
The seminar not only equipped attendees with vital knowledge on budget management and latest procurement laws but also reinforced TUPTโs commitment to good governance and financial accountability.
