"Maging kanlungan ka. Tingnan ang mga tao sa pamamagitan ng mga matang puno ng habag, hindi mga matang humuhusga. Hindi mo alam ang kanilang pinagdadaanan. Nakikita natin ang kanilang ginagawa, ngunit hindi natin batid ang dahilan. May mga taong humaharap sa mga pagsubok na hindi natin kayang unawain. May pasan silang mabibigat na suliranin—mga pagkakamali, paglalaban sa bisyo, at mga sugat ng nakaraan. Maging tagapaghilom tayo. Maging tagapag-ahon. Ayon kay Hesus, “Kayo ang ilaw ng sanlibutan, isang lungsod sa ibabaw ng burol na hindi maitatago.” Isang lungsod ka na hindi maitatago! May impluwensya ka sa mga tao sa iyong paligid. Ang tanong: Anong uri ng lungsod ka? Hinihiling kong maging lungsod kang kanlungan, hindi lungsod ng panghuhusga, pagkondena, o pagsira ng pagkatao ng iba. Walang magnanais na manirahan sa ganoong lugar. Siguraduhing ang iyong lungsod ay punô ng awa, habag, at kapatawaran. Maging tao kang marahan sa pagtulong, nag-aangat sa mga nadapa. Oo, madalas tayong matuksong humatol o maghanap ng pagkakamali. Ibaba ang mga batong iyan! Hindi tayo ang hukom—tayo ang tagapaghilom. Tayo ang magmamahal sa mga tao pabalik sa kaganapan ng buhay.”
