We might’ve just found your newest craving!

Did you know the award-winning Menya Kokoro here in Manila rolls out a new menu offering every quarter? This time, they’re bringing back a crowd favorite; the infamous Duck Truffle Menu. Rich, aromatic, and packed with deep umami flavors, it’s the kind of dish that keeps people coming back for more.

While you’re there, don’t miss their bestsellers. The Zenbu Mazesoba remains a must! Loaded, savory, and incredibly satisfying with every mix. Pair it with their Yakitori Platter, grilled the traditional way over charcoal (a signature touch that sets the A. Mabini, San Juan branch apart), giving each skewer that irresistible smoky flavor.

Complete the experience with a refreshing Suntory Kaku High or their classic Lemon Sour. An all-time pick-me-up that pairs perfectly with the bold flavors of mazesoba and yakitori.

New menu, fan favorites, and that signature charcoal grill! Sounds like the perfect reason to visit, don’t you think?

Family dinners hit different when the table is full. We recently had a feast at Friends & Family BGC with relatives visiting all the way from Nebraska, and it turned into one of those long, laughter-filled meals that remind you why Filipino food is meant to be shared.

This underrated Filipino restaurant in BGC deserves way more attention. The space is perfect for family get-togethers. There’s a relaxing alfresco area that’s pet-friendly and offers a great view of BGC Central Highstreet. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in, order a lot, and just enjoy everyone’s company. We also love how their serving sizes are cleverly named “Friends” for small plates and “Family” for large plates.

Perfect whether you’re dining as a small group or bringing the whole crew. And the food? Honestly, some dishes are comparable to (and even better than) Manam.

Check our post to see everything we ordered for a group of 12! Not in the photo are 2 orders of Family-sized garlic rice and 1 Family-sized plain rice because you can’t have Filipino food without extra rice. If you’re in the mood for cocktails or alcoholic drinks, you can also order from their sister restaurant, The Coconut Club.

Hidden inside NBS Park in Mandaluyong, Pluck is a new dining spot that puts a thoughtful spin on rotisserie chicken and comforting share plates. The concept comes from chefs Patrick Curitana (Los Tacos MNL), Ralph Sy (Goods from Scratch), and wine specialist Butz Tenchavez of Toka Wine, bringing together simple, well-executed food with a strong natural wine program.

To start, we ordered their house-made flatbread with bonito butter, rich with umami flavor. We also had their signature rotisserie chicken, marinated and slow-roasted until the skin is crisp and the meat stays juicy, served with charred cabbage, chimichurri, and chicken jus. For dessert, we finished with the burnt honey panna cotta, a silky treat topped with refreshing granita.

The restaurant’s design is just as striking as the food. The space features warm orange tones, a nod to the team’s love for orange wines, complemented by metal seating, patterned flooring, and an open kitchen that creates a relaxed yet contemporary bistro feel. It’s an inviting space that works well for both casual dinners and intimate catch-ups.

If you’re searching for a new spot for great roast chicken, natural wines, and thoughtfully made small plates, this one is worth checking out.

Celebrating Filipino coffee culture in every cup at Mabuhay Craft Coffee!

Mabuhay Craft Coffee is a proudly Filipino café that highlights local ingredients and traditions with a modern coffeehouse twist. From its name to its menu, the café showcases Filipino culture by incorporating elements like tablea into specialty coffee.
On our visit, we ordered the Tablea Mocha, rich with deep chocolate notes from traditional Filipino tablea, and the Salt Foam Latte, a smooth and creamy coffee topped with a lightly salted foam that perfectly balances sweet and bold. Both drinks showcase how local ingredients can shine in contemporary café creations.

If you’re looking for coffee that celebrates Filipino heritage while keeping things craft and creative, Mabuhay Craft Coffee is definitely worth a stop.

Little Viettown

Simple Lunar New Year dinner at Little Viettown in BF Homes, just outside Tahanan Village BF Homes.

A cozy, no-frills Vietnamese spot reminiscent of local eateries in Hanoi minus the crowd. We had crispy chả giò, fresh and tangy gỏi đu đủ and their authentic, hearty beef pho.

They’re also PET-FRIENDLY and carry Vietnamese grocery items you can check out.
Definitely a spot we’re coming back to. If you’re craving authentic Vietnamese food in Parañaque, this small gem is worth the visit.

Goo. is that place! Aesthetic, cozy, and lowkey the perfect vibe for quick catch-ups or solo coffee dates. From the cookie-shaped door k**b to the soft, warm lighting, it’s giving main character energy.

The classic cookie and milk? Timeless! No notes. But if you’re feeling extra, the double chocolate cookie with soft serve is the real plot twist. Warm, rich, gooey meets cold and creamy! And yes, the merch is cute. You’ve been warned.
