The VCI-100 is a highly professional MIDI controller that has two jog wheels built with sensor and control technology straight from our turntables.

One of the many additional features found on the VCI-100 is a curve generator that controls the crossfader curve giving the DJ true professional mixer features on this MIDI controller, even if the software being used doesn't allow for curve control.

The VCI-100 is built with the highest quality mechanical parts and state of the art PCB technology guaranteeing accurate and stable operation.

🟢 90 parameters of various software are assignable to the VCI-100's control section via USB transmitted MIDI signals.

🟢The JOG wheel is constructed with a high-resolution pulse sensor; touch sensor and acrylic platter mechanism. With this combination, operations such as pitch bending, scanning and scratching can be performed with speed and accuracy.

🟢Every crossfader motion of the VCI-100 is digitally converted and sent to the software. Curve settings are generated with the built-in CPU, which allows you to adjust the crossfader curve to your preference whether or not the software you use has curve control.

🟢The DATA SEND LED and JOG wheel SENSOR LED provides clear visual of the current status to assist in an authentic play mode in real time.

🟢Operates both with USB bus-power and an exclusive power adaptor. (For best performance and stable operation, please use the power adaptor if the computer's power capacity is low or if using a USB hub)

🟢There are no issues if you don't have software to operate. TRAKTOR LE (Native Instrument Inc.) is bundled to the VCI-100 with exclusive control assignment files.

✅The Spin is laid out very similar to the Vestax VCI-300. The two touch-sensitive platters on the left and right act as virtual turntables for the included software. Other features such as EQ, channel volume, crossfader, pitch control, and transport controls, all mimic the controls of a traditional DJ mixer.

✅The metal top of each of the two Spin platters respond to touch using capacitive technology, providing lightening quick responsiveness with a minimum of pressure.

✅The Spin's crossfader is smooth and light, but cannot be replaced is it wears out, unlike most professional systems. Curve adjustments can be made using software settings.

✅Each channel of the Spin is given its own EQ and gain controls. A gamepad-style navigation control located in the center lets users scroll up and track listings and cue songs to either of the two channels.

✅When powered-up, each of the two Spin platters glow blue. When your hand comes in contact with the platter, the lighting switches from blue to red, indicating that the platter has been engaged.

✅The front edge of the Spin includes a 1/4-inch mic input on the left and headphone output on the right. Both include volume adjustment controls nearby.

✅On the back of the Vestax Spin you'll find a USB port, RCA audio output, gain control, and an adjustment for platter sensitivity.

✅A switch is also included for USB power or an optional AC adapter.

✅The bundled Algoriddim DJay software is a Mac-only program that offers a basic and intuitive interface. Tracks and playlists are pulled directly from iTunes and most software controls are mirrored by identical hardware controls.

✅Professional users can dive into the settings for DJay for more refined control over the crossfader, pitch range, recording options, audio routing, and more.

🟢 If you’re looking for a budget way to get into digital DJing, you now have the Vestax Typhoon controller to add to your shortlist. It has a soundcard built-in, saving you the need to buy a DJ soundcard separately.

🟢 This means you just need a hi-fi, some powered speakers (such as good computer speakers) or another way of playing the music, plus a pair of headphones, and you’re off. There’s a microphone socket too for you budding mobile jocks.

🟢 First impressions/setting up
The Vestax Typhoon takes its power from the computer, so no need for a power supply in the vast majority of cases. For both the PC (with drivers supplied) and Mac (no drivers necessary), it is a plug-and-play device, coming with Traktor LE (a cut-down version of the industry-standard DJ software), a USB cable and some quick start instruction. Setup is therefore devilishly easy.

🟢 This is a capable and well thought-out unit that should serve beginning, occasional or home DJs well. The controls are all good, although the overall construction is befitting of its price-point, is basically plastic. Thus you wouldn’t expect the Typhoon to stand up to the rigours of life on the road – although a flight case would prolong its life were it to be used in this capacity.
