Starting as a hobby breeder out of our love for cats, we are dedicated to preserving and propagating the Scottish Fold breed through accepted international responsible breedin

g standards. Our cats have won awards in and are registered with Cat Fanciers Association (CFA), The World Cat Federation (WCF) and The International Cat Association (TICA). In accordance with the TICA Code of Breeder Ethics, all kittens will be released fully socialized, healthy, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and covered by a unique health guarantee with a written contract that only Bonnevie Cattery provides. All cats and kittens in our program are screened, tested and certified NEGATIVE for deadly viral diseases such as FELV/FIV, and genetic diseases such as HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy), PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease), PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy), and other viral/bacterial/genetic diseases when applicable. Living with a cat is not a right but a privilege. For their benefit we do not consign or sell to pet shops, animal laboratories, or persons that are known animal abusers or are incapable of taking proper care of them. We also do not, under any circumstance, cat stud services to protect the breeds from unauthorized breeding and so they do not contribute to the feline overpopulation problem. After a long period of study we are now also breeding British Shorthairs, and outcrossing them with our Scottish Folds (this is allowed in TICA). After a great run, having won several awards, we retired our Sphynx breeding cats and breeding program in 2020. For our Scottish Folds, Straights & British Shorthairs; Interested parties may pay us a visit upon confirmation of an appointment after an initial screening. In accordance with Philippine Laws: we are a registered cattery with the Animal Welfare Division: Bureau of Animal Industry under the Department of Agriculture in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act and it's amendments. As part of the responsible cat community we are Regular International Members in good standing, Online Breeders, and an Outstanding Cattery of: The International Cat Association (TICA) the world's largest genetic registry of Purebred Cats.

A scientist’s cat helps discover another new virus.🐈

Pepper the cat is back, and he’s making headlines again for aiding in virus discovery!

Last year, Pepper helped scientists identify the first U.S. jeilongvirus. Now, his latest hunting trophy — a dead Everglades short-tailed shrew — has led to the discovery of a brand-new strain of orthoreovirus, a virus family known to infect humans and animals like deer and bats.

Pepper’s human, University of Florida virologist John Lednicky, tested the shrew as part of ongoing research into virus transmission. The team found a previously unknown strain they’ve named Gainesville shrew mammalian orthoreovirus type 3 strain UF-1.

This virus, like the flu, can mix genes with other viruses, raising important questions about its potential risks to humans, pets, and wildlife.

And don’t worry — Pepper is healthy and still on the prowl for science.

Coming from exclusive award-winning breeding lines available only to a select few; our cats have won awards in the exacting and respected show rings of both The Cat Fanciers Association (CFA), The International Cat Association (TICA), and the World Cat Federation (WCF) .

We only place cats that we have raised from kittens personally. Only a limited amount per year are bred to guarantee the quality that we are known and trusted for around the world.

All cats and kittens in our program are screened, tested and certified NEGATIVE for deadly viral diseases such as FELV/FIV, and genetic diseases such as HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy), PKD (Polysistic Kidney Disease), PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy), CMS (Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome) when applicable. It is our belief, that having a cat is not a right-but a privilege, and for their benefit we do not consign or sell to pet shops, animal laboratories, or persons that are known animal abusers or are incapable of taking proper care of them. We do not, under any circumstance, offer sharing or cat stud services for the good of the breed. After a long period of study we are now also working with two (not intermixing or them) other breeds of cats; British Shorthairs and Sphynx, along their established breed standards.
