Foundation and the Austrian Embassy to the Philippines brought us to a leading School of Fashion in Vienna to explore skills, textile innovation, cultural exchange, and future collaboration.

For TESDA, this opens an exciting space to connect traditional craftsmanship with modern fashion skills, industry needs, and global opportunities.

The possibilities are exciting for the weavers, the TESDA Trainers, Philippine Designers.

Our Filipino skills and heritage textiles deserve a place on the global fashion stage.

The Embassy to the Philippines, Bayo Foundation, TESDA & the Philippine Textile Research Institute is weaving something for the 80th Philippine–Austria Diplomatic Relations! 🇵🇭🇦🇹

We shared what happens when heritage, textile innovation, skills, design, and enterprise come together.

Together a School of Fashion, we are exploring how Philippine textiles—from traditional fibers to innovative materials and even agricultural and textile waste- can create new skills, jobs, products and creative enterprises.

For TESDA, it’s about turning heritage into skills, innovation into opportunity, and Filipino creativity into global possibilities.

Our Day 2 learnings in Vienna-
From Waste to Wealth!

A valuable learning exposure with the Vienna team on Recycling and the Circular Economy and a powerful reminder that “waste” can become resources, products, businesses, jobs and opportunities.

Circular economy is recycling but more than that it is about rethinking how we produce, use, reuse and create value from materials.

For TESDA, this also means new skills and new occupations: skills in recycling technologies, repair and refurbishment, upcycling, sustainable production, materials recovery, green design, and circular business models.

For TESDA, this means preparing our workforce with the green skills needed for emerging industries, from recycling and repair to upcycling, sustainable production and innovative materials.
