Nagugutom Ka ba? Baka naman Healing Mode Ka Na! 🥰🥰😍
You may have heard fasting as a very good strategy for healing and fat loss due to autophagy and its capability to lower down our insulin level and regulate blood sugar.
Pero alam niyo ba, na this wasn't supposed to be a "STRATEGY". This is actually how humans are supposed to eat.
Our body is not made to eat 6x a day. In fact, the insulin spike in response to blood sugar spike must also lower down immediately, which means hindi dapat laging mataas ang blood sugar at hindi din dapat matagal na mataas ang insulin concentration sa dugo.
Also, we are metabolically flexible. Our body can obtain its fuel from glucose and fat. Ibig sabihin, right after meal, as our food elevates our blood sugar, our body is obligated to use the glucose as its fuel because it has to maintain a normal blood sugar concentration, then afterwards, our body switches to fat fuel.
We also have high glycogen storage in our liver and muscles. Ito ay mga imbakan ng mga excess sugar, lalo na ng fructose (isang klase ng asukal na hindi nagagamit bilang enerhiya kaya ito ay agad iniimbak as glycogen or pag di na kasya sa glycogen storage ay icoconvert na ang excess fructose into fat).
"Breakfast" is not the most important meal of the day. Ang totoo niyan, mataas nga ang blood sugar natin pagkagising dahil bago tayo gumising, maglalabas ang katawan ng mga hormones na maguutos sa liver na gumawa ng asukal from glycogen stores. This morning glucose will kickstart us para magising tayo at may lakas tayo as we wake up. There is no reason to jump on your carb heavy breakfast meal as soon as you get up on bed.
The problem lies on our chronic consumption of not only high carbohydrate diet, but also ultraprocessed food which has lots of additives na nanlilinlang sa ating brain reward center. This makes us eat even when we are not yet hungry. In the long run, this will also keep our blood sugar high and our insulin high until our body can no longer switch its fuel to fat and we become dependent to glucose only. Kapag naging dependent n ang ating katawan sa asukal, we will find ourselves hungry every 2 to 3 hours dahil hihingi na ng hihingi ng pagkain ang katawan lalo na kapag bumababa na ang blood sugar at di na alam ng katawan na may iba pa palang enerhiyang pwedeng gamitin.
Fasting is not a strategy.
It is how humans are supposed to eat.
It is how our ancestors eat.
They eat only about 2 to 3 main meals a day. They even only eat before sunset.
I remember living with my grandparents, they never snack. Tapos na din kumain bago magdilim. Ako lang ang reklamador noon kasi wala manlang meryenda sa bahay nila akala ko tuloy ang kinukuriputan lang nila ako. 😂
Observe yourself. If you are hungry and angry every 2 to 3 hours, kabahan ka na. Ibig sabihin nakadepende lang ang katawan mo sa asukal bilang energy.
Again, we are not created to eat frequently.
Our digestive system must rest too so that it can also focus on the body's repair and regeneration.
