Today was a tough one for me as a fish keeper. I woke up excited to check on my betta fry, only to find that many of them didn’t make it. It’s heartbreaking — after all the time spent caring for them, feeding them infusoria, and watching them grow day by day, seeing them go like this really hurts.
Raising betta fry isn’t easy. They’re delicate, and even a small change in water condition, temperature, or feeding can affect their survival. I’ve been trying to learn from this experience — maybe it was the water parameters, maybe the food wasn’t enough, or maybe I made a mistake somewhere. Still, it’s all part of growing as a fish keeper.
I may have lost some fry today, but I haven’t lost hope. I’ll keep improving my setup, learning from others, and doing my best for the next batch. Every failure is a step closer to success — and every fry that survives reminds me why I love this hobby so much. 🩵
Rest in peace, little ones. You’ll always be part of my fish-keeping journey.
