We commemorate today the 164th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal.

We honor the birth of the man whose name we carry with reverence—Dr. Jose Rizal, born on June 19, 1861. Rizal was not only a patriot, but a polymath—a physician, a linguist, a reformist, and a global thinker. His writings, especially Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, awakened the Filipino soul and ignited the flames of revolution—not through violence, but through truth.

While we commemorate his birth, let us reflect on his journey and deeds that inspired the nation to stand on its own and charter its course. In this time of division and challenges, may his ideals bring a renewed sense of commitment to serve humanity unselfishly and compassionately.

We commemorate today the ratification of the official charter of the Knights of Rizal, Republic Act No. 646, 74 years ago, on 14 June 1951.

Under the Grand Commandership of Sir Juan Nakpil, KGCR, the KOR successfully lobbied to the 2nd Congress of the Philippines the official government recognition of the Order. It was sponsored by Senators Enrique Magalona, Camilio Osias, Geronima Pecson, Esteban Abada, Lorenzo Sumulong, Jose Avelino, Emiliano Tria Tirona and Ramon Torres.

In the explanatory note of the then bill, it stated:
"This Bill if enacted into law will also serve as a historical monument to Rizal; it will constitute an official recognition by the Republic of the Philippines of the inestimable value to the nation of his teachings and examples and of the wisdom and necessity of inculcating them in the minds and hearts of our people so they may strive to follow and practice them."

For over seven decades, the Knights have stood as torchbearers of Dr. Jose Rizal’s ideals—championing patriotism, civic virtue, and lifelong learning across generations of Filipinos.

We reflect not only on our storied past but also on the evolving mission we carry today. In a rapidly changing world, the call to embody Rizal’s wisdom, courage, and moral integrity remains as urgent as ever. The Knights continue to rise to the challenge—educating, inspiring, and serving with honor.

Let us renew our commitment to nation-building and ensure that Rizal’s light continues to guide the Filipino spirit.

The Knights of Rizal Tagumpay Chapter joins the whole world in the Commemoration of the 128th Death Anniversary of Dr. JOSE P. RIZAL. The KOR in Tagum City spearheaded the solemn Wreath Laying Ceremony this morning December 30, 2024 at the Rizal Park, Rizal Street, Tagum City. The event was graced by no less than our Deputy Supreme Commander Sir Allan L. Rellon KGOR, Regional Commander for Mindanao Sir Client M. Calledo, KCR, Sir Jan Dmitri S. Sator, KCR the Area Commander and the members of the Knights of Rizal in attendance. The Free and Accepted Mason, Order of the Amaranth, Jobs Daughters International, Veterans Federation of the Philippines, Philippine Army, PNP, BFP, BJMP, Deped, PCSO, DPWH and the employees of the LGU Tagum.

Had a fruitful meeting with Sir Stephan Urs Breu, KGOR Knights of Rizal Switzerland and Lady Estella Ngeng of Las Damas de Rizal, Sir Client Calledo, KCR our Regional Commander for Mindanao and Lady Lilibeth Calledo of Kababaihang Rizalista. We talked about the Jose Rizal Heritage Funds' projects in Gupitan, Kapalong Davao del Norte for the IPs and the teachers Hopefully soon they can establish sa Jose Rizal Heritage Foundation here in Tagum City.
