There were and are a lot of men of God who were called to give up their possessions and professions in order to follow Jesus.

Ika nga ni Jesus, if you want to follow me, deny yourself. ( Matthew 16:24)

So, why are they laughing sa statement na “ pinag-resign ako ni Lord”? Ginawa pang memes and laughingstock ang naging statement na yan.

But it is not out of expectation. Sabi nga ni Paul, those who will live Godly will be persecuted. ( 2 Timothy 3:12)

In the Bible maraming examples .

1. King David. From Shepherd naging King. We might say na “Ok lang yan si David kasi better yung outcome niya” but the process was not instant.
2. Abraham- he was asked to leave his own nation and go to the promise land.
3. Matthew- once a tax collector who was earning so much. Then called by Jesus and became one of the apostles. Didn’t he resigned from being a tax collector?
4. Peter- a fisherman to a fisher of man.
5. Paul- once a church’s persecutor. Zealous of his belief up to the point where he searched for christians in order to persecute them yet when he encountered Jesus, he gave up everything for the sake of knowing Christ. (Philippians 3:7-11)

There are still more people na pinag-resign ni Lord.

To others, it is foolish.

But to those who received the calling, it is real and worth it.

Guarantor- The person who guarantees ( assurance that certain condition will be fulfilled).

Jesus guarantees a BETTER covenant- covenant that is not under by law but by what Jesus did on the cross.

This refers to eternal salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. It is beyond external cultural practices .

It is an internal heartily and genuine change.

Remember: JESUS is the GUARANTOR- The assurance of your salvation.

Therefore, put your faith in Him!

Why? Because we “know” God.
- Knowing God means knowing His character. Knowing His character means knowing the very things He loves and hates.

Knowing God simply means LIVING a life that is in accordance to His will. It is one way to recognize people who knew God is by looking how they live.

It is vital that we should identify where we put our treasure. Is it in heaven’s’ treasury or in other’s “safe” place.

We have heard that NO one can serve 2 masters because he will love the other and hate the other. No one can serve money and God at the same time.

That’s the truth.

Now, let us be reminded that money is just a tool to be used and not a master to be followed and obey.

Fellow believers, let us ask ourselves:
Where do I put my treasure?

Who will push you to do the right thing?
- those people who are trying to do it.

Who will encourage you in your pursuit of Christ and His righteousness?
- those people who are also seeking Jesus with their lives.

Thus, surround yourselves with the right people, and right circle. Those people who will not tomerate your wrongdoings. Instead, they are willing to correct, rebuke, and discipline you.

I believed, these are also the ones who clap and are proud of your wins-whether small or great in your life!

Remember, an iron cannot be sharpened with plastics nor wood but only with iron.

So, only Christians will understand Christians.

Apostle Paul reminded Timothy this harsh truth, those who desire to live godly will be persecuted.

This persecution was not a mere isolation from the group or community , it was a life or death situations.

Today, we may not face a life or death situations in our pursuit of living a godly life but we are called to stand firm AMIDST today’s persecutions.

One thing is for sure, you will be persecuted.

But have faith.

Live Godly in Jesus.

“Fight the good fight of faith.”
