UMTC honored graduating students with institutional and organizational awards during the recognition ceremony of the 75th commencement exercises, held on August 26, 2026, at the PB San Jose Gymnasium.

The institution recognized 52 summa cm laude, 89 magna cm laude, 24 cm laude, and 11 academic excellence awardeesโ€”a manifestation of the graduates' dedication and UMTC's commitment to polish diamonds in the rough through transformative education.

Parents and guardians of the awardees were also in attendance, sharing this triumphant moment with them.

Overcoming fears to soar into the greater unknown and seizing more opportunities.

In an emotional and powerful speech, Janelle A. Dacoseo, the batch 2026 valedictorian, delivered a message of hope, perseverance, and self-belief to her fellow graduates during the commencement ceremony.

โ€œHumans, as we are, it is normal to feel scared when we step into something unfamiliar. However, despite the fear, it is still important to face whatever lies ahead of us, because as they say, the only way to get through it is to go through it. And that is especially true here at UM, because in order for us to find the exit, we must dream of hardship,โ€ she stated during her speech.

Her message serves as a reminder that the journey to success is often challenging but not insurmountable. It starts with a bit of courage in our hearts to pursue the goals we desire in our lives.
