Plot twist: Your new favorite OPM cover artist might not even have lungs πŸ€–πŸŽΆ

From viral TikTok hits like Heaven Knows to "artists" infiltrating the Spotify Philippines charts to catchy retrocover playlists on YouTube, AI-generated music is blurring the line between human emotion and algorithmic perfection. We are catching a collective case of β€˜listening paranoia’—forced to play detective instead of just getting lost in the groove.

Are we losing the magic of music, or are our brains just being tricked?

The ocean had always been her shelter.

I saw a girl in the oceanβ€”floating, and it seems like she enjoys the waves. On the days when the world feels aligned to her, it shimmered like a promise: a shine light across its surface, whispering that everything moved forward, everything founds its way, believing that the world would stay gentle if she stayed kind.

But the waves had change. Or maybe she had.

Now its currents curled around her like quiet handsβ€”patient, unrelenting. The water was colder than she remembered, it was heavy with something unnamed, like grief that had learned to breathe.

She had tried. Heaven knows how much she tried.

She tried to swim out of the pulling currentsβ€”trying to get out of the agonizing sorrow. But loss came quietly, and when it did, it hollowed everything. A voice that once called her name faded. A warmth she depended on vanished without warning.

Still, she stayed. Still, she fought. Until even fighting became her life to the end.

When I found her breathless and lying on the shore, the world felt unbearably still. Her hair clung to her face like shadows, her skin pale beneath the fading light.

I knelt beside her, my hands trembling, unsure if I was too late or if she had simply let go.

β€œShe tried,” I whispered, though no one was there to hear it.

Because I knew she did.

I had seen it in the way she held herself together when everything around her fell apart. In the way she stayed soft in a world that demanded hardness. In the way she loved, even when it cost her everything.

Submerged in sorrow, she let the current carry what she could no longer hold.

The ocean truly had always been her shelter...

and in the end, it kept her, too.

πƒπ˜πŠ l World Press Freedom Day

World Press Freedom Day was officially proclaimed to mark the anniversary of the 1991 Windhoek Declarationβ€”a statement from African journalists advocating for a free, independent, and diverse media around the globe.

Press freedom functions as a foundation of democratic societies, serving as an important mechanism for holding those in power accountable and ensuring that citizens are adequately informed to make wise decisions.

We acknowledge this moment to celebrate the value of truth and to protect the people who courageously put their utmost effort in delivering reliable and truthful information to us, even when faced with threats, harassment, and violence for simply doing their job.

On this day, let us uphold our commitment to supporting journalists and defending the principles enshrined in the Windhoek Declaration.

May this be a reminder that the press provides information, and freedom allows it to operate responsibly and fairly, both necessary for a just and informed world.

π’π‚πˆ-𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐇 | 'Free 51 GB data' scam amid Labor Day

Today, May 1st, as the country celebrates Labor Day, a suspicious link circulating online claims a β€œfree 51 GB data for 90 days” offer to all β€œFilipino workers” and prompts site visitors to enter their mobile number to claim it.

This β€˜giveaway’ appears to be legitimate at first, using familiar colors and including logos of the official telecommunication service providers such as Globe, DITO, and Smart maliciously.

However, there have been no official announcements from the official pages of these telecoms, raising the probability of it being a scam or, much worse, a phishing scheme that further exposes personal information to unknown risks.

Meanwhile, the public is encouraged to always practice vigilance on the internetβ€”avoid clicking and sharing suspicious links, follow only the official channels and pages of telecoms/authorities, and always think twice when dealing with β€œtoo-good-to-be-true” offers.

Like petals unfolding under the morning sun, may you open yourself to new beginnings. Growth may be quiet, but it is always happening.

Allow this month to welcome you into a softer chapter that opens doors meant for you.

It’s finally May, and may your dreams grow as flowers do. 🌸

"Nothing" in English or "Wala" in Tagalog.

We tend to use these magic words when someone tries to confront us about what we feel or asks if we have a problem. The untruthful word that carries plenty of hidden meanings and lies the painful truth we hide in the shadows.

We tried to speak out loud the unsaid thoughts we've been keeping for so long, but we couldn't because we are afraid that someone might invalidate our feelings. We stay quiet, even though it's suffocating. We keep fighting, even though it's tiring.

But what else can we do? What would happen if we finally chose to express our true intentions?

We are trapped in a cage even though we are not prisoners. We are just like slaves who obediently follow their masters. Sometimes, the ones closest to us by blood are the ones who make us feel different. The ones who make us feel that we are not enough just as we are. The ones who let our burning passion slowly vanish.

I certainly know that there is a big difference between parents who protect and guide and parents who manipulate and see their child as an asset. Parents who are supposed to be our safe place, our core, and our inspiration sometimes become our downfall.

Do we deserve this kind of treatment? Why does this have to happen when all we want is to be seen, to be appreciated, and to be supported in the decisions we make? We’ve fought hard enough, or at least it feels that way.

Is it too much to ask for them to listenβ€”to truly see, even just once, what we are capable of and what we are trying to achieve?

Perhaps, others are right... perhaps, saying β€œnothing” is easier than bleeding in front of others. Rather than forcing ourselves to explain everything, we choose silence. Because silence feels safer than being judged, misunderstood, or dismissed.

But silence does not always mean peace, does it? Sometimes, it is just pain with no voice.

And maybe, just maybe, one day we’ll find the courage to replace β€œnothing” or "wala " with the truth, even if our voices tremble.

To enhance athletic skills and promote physical fitness, CMDI Tagum Campus conducted a sports training program for all students, which started yesterday, April 29, 2026, at the CMDI Tagum Gymnasium.

Aimed to prepare student-athletes for upcoming interschool competitions, participants who came from different departments, actively joined the activities facilitated by coaches, focusing on improving both physical conditioning and game strategies.

The program included basketball and volleyball training sessions where coaches guided the students through proper techniques, warm-up routines, and teamwork exercises, emphasizing discipline and cooperation, and that sports development goes beyond physical performance.

Aspiring athletes were encouraged to join CMDI Tagum's official basketball and volleyball teams through tryouts on May 13 and June 3, 2026, for the second and third batch, and are required to bring their Certificate of Registration (COR).
