Last June 10โ€“11, Saint Joseph High School of Talakag, Inc. came alive as students stepped forward to showcase their passion and potential during the sports tryouts, Band and Lyre Corps and Dance Troupe auditions, and Staff Publication applications.

Spearheaded by the dedicated moderators and faculty members, these activities opened doors for Joseans to grow, lead, and excel in their chosen fieldsโ€”whether in sports, performing arts, or journalism.

From the courts to the stage, and behind the pen, SJHSTI continues to nurture well-rounded individuals ready to make their mark.

Talakag, Bukidnon โ€” Saint Joseph High School of Talakag, Inc. (SJHSTI) successfully concluded its Orientation Seminar 2026, marking a vibrant and meaningful start to the new academic year under the theme, โ€œItโ€™s Good to Be Back!โ€

Spanning two days, the seminar brought together students, faculty, and student leaders in a series of activities designed to foster camaraderie, awareness, and school spirit. Day 1 began with arrival and preliminaries, followed by a โ€œGet to Know Youโ€ session and team-building activities that encouraged interaction and collaboration among participants. The day continued with an orientation proper, equipping students with essential knowledge about school policies, expectations, and student life.

On Day 2, excitement filled the campus as students participated in โ€œThe Club Trail Quest,โ€ an engaging activity that introduced them to various school organizations and opportunities for involvement. The program also included a business meeting, awarding ceremonies, and the closing program, highlighting the achievements and participation of students throughout the seminar.

The event concluded with discussions on school procedures, reinforcing discipline and preparedness for the academic year ahead.

Throughout the seminar, students actively engaged in activities that strengthened teamwork, leadership, and a sense of belonging within the Josean community.

The success of Orientation Seminar 2026 reflects SJHSTIโ€™s commitment to holistic student developmentโ€”ensuring that learners are not only academically prepared but also socially connected and values-driven.

As the seminar comes to a close, Joseans move forward with renewed enthusiasm, ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities of the school year.

A powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Mindanao at 7:37 AM today, sending tremors across the region and prompting immediate safety measures in schools and communities.

At Saint Joseph High School of Talakag, Inc., students and faculty were in the midst of the Orientation Seminar 2026 when the quake struck. Following the schoolโ€™s safety regulations, everyone quickly evacuated to the schoolโ€™s open field, ensuring a safe distance from buildings and potential hazards.

As of now, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) warned the public that tsunami wave heights of โ€œmore than one meter above the normal tidesโ€ are expected. The first tsunami waves will arrive between 7:37 am and 9:37 am, and โ€œmay continue for hours.โ€

SJHSTI remains vigilant for further warnings of aftershocks.
