There are people who teach lessons, and there are those who leave lessons behind.

𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧.

In every classroom where knowledge is shared, wisdom flourished, and possibilities start to take shape, there stands a teacher — patiently guiding, serving, and making each students' dreams realized.

On 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 3, 2026, the 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧'𝙨 𝘼𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘿𝙖𝙮 brought together 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘢𝘥𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳, 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳, and 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘴 at the 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿'𝘀 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 for a celebration 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 the very people behind every lesson, every achievement, and every student who dares not to lose track in pursuit of their dreams.

With the presence of 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗔𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗚𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝗺, Municipal Mayor, the celebration was filled with heartfelt messages, musical performances, laughter, and moments of appreciation for the teachers who continue to serve as a bridge for every student to reach their dreams.

But beyond the music and festivities, the heart of the celebration was the recognition of teachers whose dedication continues to render light to the lives of their students.

As 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼-𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀 said, "𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘬𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘺𝘰." These words affirm that teachers are the foundation of every profession and a testament to why they deserve appreciation and recognition. Behind everg doctor, engineer, lawyer, artist, entrepreneur, and every person who dreams of becoming something greater, there was once a teacher who helped them take their first step.

For every lesson taught, every dream nurtured, every challenge faced with patience, and every inspiration that bestows hope upon every student — THANK YOU!

The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology – Talavera Off-Campus (NEUST-TOC), through the College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT), conducted “Research to Publication: A Faculty Capacity-Building Workshop for High-Impact Research and Scholarly Publishing” on October 3, 2026, at the Talavera Off-Campus Library.

The faculty capacity-building activity brought together faculty members for a series of sessions designed to strengthen their knowledge and skills in research development and scholarly publication.

The program featured Dr. Allen Paul Esteban as the resource speaker, who led discussions on transforming research ideas into publishable studies and preparing publication-ready manuscripts. The succeeding sessions also tackled choosing appropriate journals and avoiding predatory publications, as well as the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in research and scholarly writing.

The program opened with the National Anthem, an opening prayer, and a welcome message from Atty. Concepcion Rafil-Tolentino, Campus Administrator. Dr. Ruth G. Luciano, BSIT Program Head, delivered the statement of purpose and introduced the resource speaker.

The activity concluded with the awarding of certificates and closing remarks from Michael E. Bensi, MSIT, BSIT Training Coordinator, marking another step toward strengthening research capacity and promoting a culture of scholarly publication at NEUST-TOC.

IN PHOTOS | Talavera Off-Campus Holds Flag Retreat

The NEUST Talavera Off-Campus community gathered for a flag retreat on October 1, 2026, at the NEUST Talavera Off-Campus Gymnasium, led in coordination with the Talavera Off-Campus Administration Office and the official campus publication, The Pulse.

The program commenced with a Panalangin ng Pasasalamat led by Racquel Joy Balatbat, followed by the singing of the NEUST Hymn and the Philippine National Anthem. The community then sang “Pilipinas Kong Mahal,” led by John Paul Manalad.

Following the ceremonial activities, The Pulse facilitated a Zumba session featuring “Girl in the Mirror,” providing students and members of the campus community with an opportunity to participate in a short physical activity.

The program was hosted by Andrew Aquino, who also reiterated several campus protocols and policies. Among the reminders were the proper wearing of school IDs and uniforms, as well as the observance of regulations concerning earrings.

The gathering also took a solemn turn as the NEUST Talavera Off-Campus community observed a moment of silence in remembrance of Justine Reyes, a BSIT 3-C student, who recently passed away. A prayer was subsequently offered in his memory.

The flag retreat concluded with students and members of the campus community returning to their respective classrooms to resume their scheduled classes.

The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) congratulates University President Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo on completing 30 years of dedicated government service.

Her three decades of service reflect a career that began in the classroom and steadily progressed through academic and administrative leadership—from teacher and principal to dean, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and now University President.

From shaping young minds as an educator to guiding the direction of the university, Dr. Jugo’s journey has remained committed to one purpose: serving the institution and its people. Her story also reflects the value of perseverance, as she has described her journey as one marked by challenges, learning, and the opportunity to rise from every setback.

Her leadership was also recognized during the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III’s SHE LEADs event in 2025, which honored women presidents of higher education institutions in Central Luzon. In her message, Dr. Jugo emphasized that leadership is measured not only by achievements and credentials but also by meaningful contributions to the lives of those one serves.

As she celebrates this milestone, NEUST honors both her years of service and the journey that has shaped her—a teacher who continues to learn, a leader who continues to serve, and a public servant whose career has grown alongside the University.

Congratulations, President Jugo, on 30 years of committed service! May your journey continue to inspire generations of NEUSTians to lead with purpose, humility, and dedication.

The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology – Talavera Off-Campus (NEUST-TOC) community held its flag raising ceremony on September 28, 2026.

Students actively took part in the program, which included the prayer, Panunumpa ng Watawat, recitation of the University Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Tagline, Food for Thought, and a Zumba session.

The program was led by The Pulse Editor-in-Chief Samantha Lorraine Galicia as the ceremony conductor. Circulation Manager Michelle Dianne Dela Cruz led the prayer, Staff Artist King Benidick Gaboy led the Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas, Associate Editor Honeylette Turalba led the recitation of the Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Tagline, Lean Rose Grospe delivered the Food for Thought, and Staff Jorielyn Jorlucas led the Zumba session.

Meanwhile, Staff Jessie James Cruz served as the flag bearer, while Administrative Staff Sir Andrew Aquino served as the Master of Ceremony.

The flag raising ceremony concluded with the active participation of students, marking the start of another week of learning, growth, and academic engagement at NEUST-TOC.

Ang kasaysayan ay hindi dapat ibinabaon dahil lamang ito ay masakit alalahanin.

Setyembre 21. Isang petsang hindi lamang dapat dumaan sa kalendaryo, kundi isang araw na dapat magpaalala sa atin ng isang madilim na kabanata ng kasaysayan ng Pilipinas.

May mga nagsasabing hindi naman idineklara ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang Martial Law. Totoo—ang deklarasyon ng Martial Law noong Setyembre 21, 1972 ay ginawa ng kanyang ama, si dating Pangulong Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., sa pamamagitan ng Proclamation No. 1081.

Ngunit kung ang punto ay hindi naman siya ang nagdeklara, nangangahulugan ba iyon na dapat na nating kalimutan ang nangyari?

Hindi.

Dahil ang kasaysayan ay hindi pag-aari ng isang pamilya, isang administrasyon, o isang panig ng pulitika. Ito ay bahagi ng alaala ng isang bansa.

Hindi natin kailangang balikan ang nakaraan upang manatili sa galit. Balikan natin ito upang maintindihan kung paano natin narating ang kasalukuyan.

Hindi rin sapat na sabihin nating “matagal na iyon.” Ang mga taong nakaranas ng pag-aresto, pagkakakulong, torture, pagkawala ng kalayaan, at iba pang paglabag sa karapatang pantao ay hindi naging bahagi ng isang kuwento dahil lamang sa kanilang pangalan ay nakasulat sa mga libro. Sila ay mga totoong tao. May mga pamilya silang naiwan. May mga pangarap silang hindi natuloy. May mga buhay na nagbago dahil sa mga pangyayaring hindi na mababawi.

Mismong Republic Act No. 10368 ang kumikilala sa mga biktima ng human-rights violations noong Marcos regime mula Setyembre 21, 1972 hanggang Pebrero 25, 1986 at nagtatakda ng pagkilala at reparasyon para sa kanila. Kinikilala rin ng batas ang heroism at sacrifices ng mga biktima.

Kaya hindi simpleng usapin ng “pro-Marcos” o “anti-Marcos.”

Mas malalim dito ang tanong, ano ang mangyayari kapag pinili nating kalimutan ang mga aral ng nakaraan?

Kapag unti-unting nabura sa alaala ng kabataan ang mga nangyari, nagiging mas madali para sa kasaysayan na mapalitan ng kalahating kuwento, maling impormasyon, o romantisadong bersyon ng nakaraan.

At dito nagiging mahalaga ang edukasyon.

Hindi dapat ituro ang kasaysayan upang turuan ang isang henerasyon kung sino ang dapat nilang kamuhian. Dapat itong ituro upang matutunan nilang magtanong, magsuri ng ebidensya, kumilala ng katotohanan, at maunawaan ang halaga ng kalayaan at karapatang pantao.

Dahil ang pag-alala ay hindi nangangahulugang manatili tayo sa nakaraan.

Ang pag-alala ay paraan upang hindi na natin ulitin ang mga pagkakamali nito.

May mga taong lumaban. May mga taong nagsalita kahit may kapalit. May mga taong nagdusa dahil ipinaglaban nila ang kanilang mga karapatan. At may mga pamilyang hanggang ngayon ay dala ang alaala ng mga nangyari.

Hindi natin sila dapat kalimutan.

Hindi rin dapat burahin ang kasaysayan dahil ito ay mapait, kontrobersyal, o hindi komportable. Ang isang bansang tunay na natututo ay hindi pumipili lamang ng mga kabanatang maganda basahin.

Binabasa nito pati ang mga pahinang masakit.

Sapagkat kung aalisin natin ang madilim na bahagi ng ating kasaysayan, hindi lamang isang pahina ang mawawala. Mawawala rin ang aral.

At kapag nawala ang aral, sino ang makapagsasabi na hindi na muling mauulit ang parehong pagkakamali?

Hindi natin kailangang kalimutan ang nakaraan para makapagpatuloy. Kailangan natin itong alalahanin upang malaman kung saan tayo nanggaling—at kung anong klaseng bayan ang nais nating maging.

Naniniwala tayo na ang pinakamahalagang investment ay iyong may pangmatagalang bunga—ang kaalaman, kakayahan, at kinabukasan ng ating mga kabataan.

Kung mas handa ang ating mga estudyante ngayon, mas malaki ang pagkakataon nilang maging bahagi ng mas magandang bukas.

Tuloy lang tayo sa paglikha ng mas maraming oportunidad para sa kabataan!

To welcome the freshmen of 𝗡𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗘𝗰𝗶𝗷𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 (𝗡𝗘𝗨𝗦𝗧), 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵-𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳 students from the 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖 𝙊𝙛𝙛-𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙪𝙨 (𝙏𝙊𝘾) joined the annual 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿(𝗔𝗦𝗙𝗬), with the 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘦: “𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮-𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘆, 𝗶𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗯𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘀𝗸𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻”, on September 10, 2026, at the 𝙉𝙀𝙐𝙎𝙏-𝘾𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙂𝙮𝙢𝙣𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙪𝙢, 𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙖𝙗 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙪𝙨.

Together with students from other colleges and campuses, 𝗡𝗘𝗨𝗦𝗧-𝗧𝗢𝗖 𝗟𝗦𝗚 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝐌𝐫. 𝐕𝐢𝐜 𝐕𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬 joined the processional. The program featured the opening remarks of 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐲𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐑. 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞, the statement of purpose by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚. 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐑. 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐨, welcome messages from 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐁𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐥 𝐃𝐋. 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐏. 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐛𝐚, 𝐄𝐝𝐃, and an inspirational message from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐑. 𝐉𝐮𝐠𝐨, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁.

The whole-day event also featured the 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘬, 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘸, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘖𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨, along with 𝘷𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 that brought students from different 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘴 colleges together.

The 𝗡𝗘𝗨𝗦𝗧-𝗧𝗢𝗖 extends its support to the 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗔 𝗕𝗨𝗙𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗢𝗦 as they showcased their skills and talents in the 𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗚 and 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡. For the Talavera Buffalos, true 𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 is found in the 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚 to step 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙, give their best, and 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙙𝙡𝙮 showcase themselves on stage while representing NEUST-TOC.

This ASFY 2026 marks the beginning of a new 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙮 filled with new experiences, friendships, and opportunities as they continue their journey as 𝙄𝙨𝙠𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙧 𝙣𝙜 𝘽𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣.
