The Provincial Government of Bohol celebrates the 170th Bohol Day, with the theme, “Sandugo sa Bohol: Celebrating Connections, Celebrating Unity.”

History is what makes a province’s story to tell. On July 22, 1854, Bohol was separated from Cebu and established as a politico-military province under Spanish rule. This separation marked the beginning of Bohol's unique identity and governance. Later, during the American regime, Bohol was officially recognized as a province.

Celebrating Bohol Day not only honors our rich history but also reinforces our identity and unity in the present. It reminds us of our journey and the resilience of our people, fostering pride and a sense of belonging. For future generations, this celebration serves as a cornerstone, inspiring them to preserve our heritage and continue the legacy of unity and progress.

Nikki Lofranco, Talibon's representative for Miss Bohol 2024, is set to showcase a vibrant and captivating ensemble inspired by her town's Abundayun Festival which celebrates the agricultural, marine, and Talibongnons' abundance.

The term "Abundayun" is derived from the Cebuano word "abunda," which means abundance, and the festival embodies the concept of "dayon," which embraces God's continuous blessings for everyone.
