Asian College of Technology-Integrated School (ACT-IS) successfully held its Family Day on December 14, 2025, featuring 82 raffle prizes designed to foster joy, sharing, and community spirit during the holiday season.

The prizes were distributed at different times of the program, starting as early-bird rewards after registration and continuing through the Holy Mass, games, dinner, and the Bingo Social.

Food essentials such as 10 packs of spaghetti packages, 20 5-kilo sacks of rice, and one 50-kilo rice sacks, were among the prizes that supported practical household needs.

Home and electronic items were also included namely the 24 electric kettles, 20 fridge bottles with Meadows Crepe, a turbo USB fan, flat iron, oven toaster, coffee maker, and 3 rice cookers.

Major prizes, particularly the donated appliances, were awarded after the Bingo Social, marking a memorable conclusion to the celebration.

According to the PTA President Ruby Mecha, the raffle draw was chosen as a practical and cost-effective alternative to the previous year’s contest-style event, allowing the school to give back to contributing parents while maximizing limited resources.

Despite a modest PTA budget of ₱10,000, additional support from generous individuals through solicitations enabled the program to expand to 82 prizes, prioritizing an inclusive and memorable experience over attempting to meet individual preferences.

However, Mecha also mentioned that the organizing team faced minimal challenges involving the transport of heavier items which was successfully overcome through teamwork, dedication, and careful planning from the PTA Execom officers.

Simultaneously, fairness and transparency were ensured by issuing raffle tickets during registration, allowing participants to drop their own tickets into the tambiolo or the raffle drum and having trusted raffle drawers to draw.

As Mecha further emphasized, the prizes further strengthened the sense of community by addressing basic needs, especially for families affected by the recent calamities, reflecting the IS Family’s support and commitment to care.

The raffle draw winners expressed visible shock and overwhelming happiness as they received their prizes as one stated that: “Winning this oven toaster is like winning a lottery ticket, I am thankful for ACT-IS for giving me the chance of winning an oven toaster.”

With high hopes, Mecha also noted that future IS Family Day celebrations can enhance the raffle segment by securing more sponsorships from local commercial establishments, allowing for even more exciting prizes and a bigger impact on the community.

The wide range of prizes reflected the school’s commitment to generosity, community spirit, and family-centered celebration during the ACT-IS Family Day.

December 9, 2025 marked a meaningful milestone as Kobe Yamate Global High School and Asian College of Technology (ACT) Integrated School came together for a cultural and educational exchange that strengthened international understanding.

The visiting students from Kobe Yamate were warmly welcomed by ACT-IS students, who greeted them with exchange souvenirs as a symbol of friendship and hospitality.

Students from both institutions shared insights into their cultures, discussing traditional food, social interactions, and everyday ways of life in their respective countries.

Asianistas expressed excitement over meeting peers from another country, especially as they discovered shared niche interests that helped build instant connections.

One Kobe Yamate student shared her experience in the Philippines, saying, “It’s been fun—we get to see awesome views and try dried mango, and although it’s very hot, we’re enjoying every moment since it’s currently snowing in Japan.”

To further encourage interaction, the ACT-IS faculty facilitated an engaging game that promoted communication, teamwork, and enjoyment among the students.

The event concluded with a group photo, capturing a memorable day of cultural exchange that inspired greater curiosity and appreciation for diverse cultures.

RSPC Grand Opening

Regional Schools Press Conference has officially opened on Tuesday, April 9 at The Sisters of Mary School, Talisay City. This year's theme is "Galing, Talino, at Husay ng mga Batang Makabansa sa Diwa ng MATATAG na Adhika."

Loud cheers were heard during the entrance of delegates. It started with a colorful parade at Talisay Central School wherein different schools wore their own gleaming colors to represent their division.

The RSPC was joined by 20 divisions from Central Visayas. The delegations were warmly welcomed by joyful hosts, presentations, and messages from the Talisay City administrators as well as DepEd Administrators.

Before the event ended, a speech from Hon. Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Vargas Gullas Jr. was heard and then followed by the reading of the Journalist’s creed and DepEd Core Values. An ending walk of muses and escorts officially closed the program.

The delegations then proceeded to the respective contest locations wherein Asian College of Technology Bulacao Campus was one of which. It is truly an honor for the school to cater for the needs of every student who joined the RSPC.

The Regional Schools Press Conference is indeed one significant crossroad to shape a journalist’s journey. Win or lose, may all journalists continue writing and pursue journalism. ✍️ Best of luck and God bless!
