Located in Talisay, the The Ruins is an Italianate-style skeletal mansion often called the "Taj Mahal of Negros." It was built in the early 1900s by sugar baron Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson as a tribute to his late wife, Maria Braga.

Historical Significance

WWII Resilience: During World War II, Filipino guerrillas burned the mansion for three days to prevent Japanese forces from using it as a headquarters.

Architectural Survival: The sturdy concrete frame—reinforced with egg whites—remained standing despite the fire.

Visiting Information (2026)

Best Time: Aim for 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM (the "golden hour") to see the structure glow at sunset before the night lights are turned on.

Hours: Daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, though it occasionally closes for private events.

Fees: Adults: PHP 150 | Seniors/PWD: PHP 100 | Students: PHP 80 | Children under 8: Free.

Watching that first set was absolutely incredible! 🔥 The energy the fire artists brought to the sand set the tone for the entire night.With the sea in the background and those mesmerizing flames, I was completely blown away from the very first spark. ✨
