The AFP Peacekeeping Operations Center joins the entire nation in the observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women. This year's sub-theme, "VAW Bigyang Wakas, Ngayon na ang Oras," calls all of us to take urgent, decisive action and to reaffirm our sincere commitment to ending all forms of violence against women.

As Filipino Peacekeepers deployed in United Nations Peacekeeping Mission Areas, our strict adherence to the UN's Zero-Tolerance Policy on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse stands as a testament to our resolve. We take pride in the contributions we make not only to our nation but also to the global community in upholding the dignity, rights, and safety of women everywhere. Our mission ensures that women are protected, respected, and empowered to thrive in safe, peaceful, and inclusive societies.

This campaign is especially relevant to women living in conflict-affected regions around the world. Through this advocacy, we, your AFP peacekeepers remain steadfast and mindful of our role as ambassadors of peace. We commit to championing the freedoms and rights of women who continue to endure violence within hostile environments, and we strive to bring them renewed hope for a brighter and more secure future.

May this noble endeavor strengthen our unity and resolve as we work together toward a VAW-free community.

IN PHOTOS | The Armed Forces of the Philippines Peacekeeping Operations Center (AFPPKOC) headed by the Commanding Officer, Colonel Warlito A. Limet ARM (GSC) PA held flag-raising ceremony in commemoration of the 8th Anniversary of Marawi Liberation on October 20, 2025 at Headquarters, AFPPKOC, Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac.

With the theme, “Marawi 8: Sa Tapang, Sa Pagbangon, Sa Kapayapaan,” commemorating the successful take-over of the Marawi City from the hands of terrorists. Moreover, it is a tribute to the heroism, resilience, patriotism, and unity of the Filipino people.

During the event, Col Limet delivered the message of the AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. PA, who reflected on a defining chapter in Philippine history—the Marawi siege. He emphasized that it was not just a battle waged on the streets, but a profound test of courage, unity, and patriotism for those who valiantly fought for freedom and peace.

In his message, he emphasized, “We honor the valor and sacrifice of our soldiers, police, and reservists, heroes who laid down their lives so that future generations may live freely. Their courage changed the course of history, and their sacrifice paved the path from destruction to renewal.”

He added, “The people of Marawi chose peace over anger, unity over division, and hope over despair. The government, on the other hand, committed itself to providing security, humanitarian aid, and sustainable development programs. Agencies worked tirelessly with the Armed Forces to restore order, rebuild infrastructure, and ensure that peace takes root. This partnership between the people and the government is the foundation of lasting peace.”

As we reflect on the Marawi Siege and its enduring lessons, the AFP Peacekeeping Operations Center reaffirms its pivotal role in advancing both national peace and international cooperation through peacekeeping operations aligned with United Nations principles.
