Day 13 of my 5 minutes Bible Reading focused on Bible verses about the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1; Luke 11:13; John 14:26; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:5; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 4:8; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 2:27).

Acts 1:8 doesn’t just promise power, it immediately CONNECTS that POWER to a PURPOSE. “You will be My witnesses…” Ibig sabihin, the Holy Spirit doesn’t empower us para lang gumaan ang buhay or maging emotionally charged. He empowers us to represent Christ WHEREVER we go…home, work, online, church, school, friendships, and even in uncomfortable spaces.

Minsan iniisip natin kailangan maging PREACHIR, LEADER, or WORSHIP SINGER para maging witness. But being a witness is NOT ABOUT A TITLE, it is about living in a way that reflects Jesus. When we respond with kindness instead of pride, when we forgive instead of retaliate, when we share hope instead of gossip, yun ang evidence ng Spirit.

The disciples didn’t stay gathered after receiving power, they were scattered to different places to carry the message. That means our location, season, and circle are not accidents. May assignment doon.

Today, I am reminded that having the Holy Spirit is a CALL, not just a COMFORT. The goal is not to feel POWERFUL, it is to FULFILL A PURPOSE.

Day 10 of my 5 minutes Bible Reading focused on Bible verses about the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1; Luke 11:13; John 14:26; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:5; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 4:8; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 2:27).

One powerful truth about the Holy Spirit is this, He does not speak on His own. He speaks what the Father speaks (John 16:13). He only communicates what comes from the Father. Ibig sabihin, kapag may conviction, reminder, or leading ka in your heart that aligns with God’s character and Word, hindi yan random thought, God is speaking through His Spirit.

This gives us confidence and caution at the same time. CONFIDENCE, because we know God's voice is consistent, He will not contradict Himself. CAUTION, because we must learn to distinguish guilt from conviction, emotion from revelation, and fear from leading.

Marami sa atin ang nagpe-pray na “Lord, speak to me,” pero hindi tayo nag-e-expect na sasagot Siya through the Holy Spirit. Sometimes through Scripture, sometimes through conscience, sometimes through redirection, and sometimes through our people (our spiritual leaders, spouse or even children).

Today, I realized that when the Spirit speaks, it is not just for information…IT IS FOR TRANSFORMATION. The Father speaks through Him because He wants us to WALK IN TRUTH, NOT CONFUSION.

Day 9 of my 5 minutes Bible Reading focused on Bible verses about the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1; Luke 11:13; John 14:26; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:5; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 4:8; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 2:27).

John 16:13 says the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth.

God will never force us to obey Him, pero lagi Siyang nagbibigay ng direksyon sa mga handang sumunod.

Today, I am reminded that listening to the Holy Spirit is not just about hearing His voice, it is about responding with OBEDIENCE. Direction without obedience is still disobedience.

So today, PAUSE, LISTEN, and FOLLOW. God’s whisper might be the direction you’ve been praying for.

Day 8 of my 5 minutes Bible Reading focused on Bible verses about the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1; Luke 11:13; John 14:26; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:5; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 4:8; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 2:27).

John 16:7 is a surprising truth…Jesus said it was better for Him to leave so the Holy Spirit could come. Imagine hearing that as a disciple, parang hindi logical! Ito ung naisip ko kagabi sa aming Bible Study while we are going through these Bible verses about the Holy Spirit. But what feels like loss to us is often preparation for something greater.

Sometimes we think that the best way God can move is through what we see and understand. But He knows that His presence through the Spirit is more powerful than our attachment to what is familiar. The HOLY SPIRIT is not a downgrade…He is JESUS WITH US and IN US.

Madalas when things don’t go our way, we assume God is silent or distant. But maybe He is shifting something so we can experience His presence in a deeper way. Our plans may feel safer, pero His presence is always better than our preference.

Today, I am learning to stop treating interruptions as rejection. What I think I am losing might just be making space for the Spirit to work in a way I did not expect.

Day 7 of my 5 minutes Bible Reading focused on Bible verses about the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1; Luke 11:13; John 14:26; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:5; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 4:8; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 2:27).

John 14:26 does not just call the Holy Spirit our HELPER, He is also our COMFORTER. People try to encourage us using words and presence, but the Holy Spirit works deep within…HEALING, REASSURING, and LIFTING BURDENS we can not even explain.

But the Spirit doesn’t wait for us to be okay before He comes near. He comforts us so we can stand again. Sometimes the comfort comes through tears, sometimes through peace that doesn’t make sense, sometimes through stillness. Isa sa mga encouraging point ni Pastor Marc last Sunday was this “Ang mga luha natin ay hindi sayang, kundi patunay na may ginagawang malalim na bagay ang Diyos sa ating buhay." Psalm 56:8 says, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.”

He doesn’t invalidate our emotions. Hindi Niya sinasabing “tigilan mo yan” kundi “nandito ako.” His comfort doesn’t always remove the problem, but He STRENGTHENS us inside it.

Today, I was reminded that HEALING doesn’t always start with SOLUTIONS, it starts with PRESENCE. And I’m grateful that the Holy Spirit meet us where we are, not where we pretend to be.

Day 6 of my 5 minutes Bible Reading focused on Bible verses about the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1; Luke 11:13; John 14:26; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:5; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 4:8; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 2:27).

Yesterday, my firstborn son and I went on a roadtrip 😊 dapat mamimili lang kami ng groceries but on a last minute we decided to go to S & R in Dau (about 1 to 2 hours drive via McArthur Hiway). While caught in traffic, we had a good conversation about God and about life, the past and the now. The conversation goes like this…

There are moments when life hits and we suddenly forget what God has already taught us. Panic replaces peace, doubt replaces faith, and emotions take over. But John 14:26 reminds us that the Holy Spirit’s role is to teach us and remind us of everything Jesus said. Hindi lang Siya nagtuturo once, He keeps reminding us, lalo na kapag nakakalimot tayo.

We don’t always forget because we’re weak, minsan kasi sobrang ingay ng mundo, and God’s voice gets drowned in stress, fear, and busyness. The Holy Spirit gently brings back the truth, not to condemn us, but to realign us. Yung verse na biglang sumulpot sa isip mo when you are tempted?

Sometimes we think we need more INFORMATION, but what we really need is REVELATION…something God already said, brought back to the surface at the right time.

Today, we realized that we don’t walk by memory alone…God Himself refreshes our hearts with His Word. Thanks to my look-alike son, Sir Gee Schultz, for the joy ride and joyful conversation!

Day 5 of my 3-5 minutes Bible Reading focused on Bible verses about the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1; Luke 11:13; John 14:26; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:5; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 4:8; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 2:27).

At times life can feel overwhelming.

The good news is meron tayong comfort in John 14:26...the Holy Spirit is our HELPER. Hindi Siya spectator sa buhay natin...He is actively with us.

The word “Helper” in this verse also means Advocate, Comforter, Strengthener, and Companion. This means the Holy Spirit is not only present during worship or prayer, He is involved in our decisions, conversations, and silent battles (that is, if we allow Him).

When we fail, He doesn’t abandon us. When we forget God’s Word, He reminds us. When we are unsure, He teaches gently. Kung minsan feeling natin alone tayo sa struggles, truth is, hindi tayo iniwan, maybe we just stopped acknowledging the One beside us.

Today, I realized that I don’t have to carry everything alone. The Holy Spirit walks with me not just during spiritual moments but in every ordinary and messy part of my life. Sabi nga nung lyrics ng isang song "you never walk alone..." kaya ngayon ang lagi kong bukambibig pag gising palang sa umaga, "Come Holy Spirit, I need You."

Day 3 of my 3-5 minutes Bible Reading focused on Bible verses about the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1; Luke 11:13; John 14:26; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:5; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 4:8; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 2:27).

Luke 11:13 teaches something simple but confronting. God gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask. Hindi Niya ipinagkakait, hindi Niya tinitipid. The question is…humihingi ba talaga tayo? Many of us pray for blessings (mostly material), protection, answered prayers, pero bihira nating hingin ang PRESENCE and POWER of the Holy Spirit.

Sometimes we live spiritually dry lives not because God is distant, but because we don’t approach Him with expectation. Asking is HUMILITY. It’s acknowledging, “Lord, I need You. Hindi ako sapat on my own.” Kapag hindi tayo humihingi, we unknowingly declare independence from the very Source of wisdom, peace, and strength.

When we ask for the Holy Spirit, we are not just asking for comfort or emotions. We are asking for ALIGNMENT, TRANSFORMATION, and DAILY EMPOWERMENT. And unlike people, God does not give reluctantly. He delights in giving His Spirit to His children.

Today I realized, baka kaya kulang ako sa clarity, peace, or boldness…not because God is withholding, but because I have not been asking. So, I am starting differently… “Holy Spirit, fill me today. Lead my thoughts, emotions, and choices.”

Day 2 of my 3-5 minutes Bible Reading focused on Bible verses about the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1; Luke 11:13; John 14:26; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:5; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 4:8; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 2:27).

There are days na feeling natin kaya natin lahat…decisions, conflicts, deadlines, even temptations…using our own wisdom and experiences. Pero Luke 4:1 reminds us that even Jesus, who was perfect and sinless, did not move without the Holy Spirit. He was “full of the Spirit” before entering the wilderness. Kung Siya nga, hindi nag-rely sa human ability, why do we often try to do life on our own?

Self-reliance sounds good but can lead to exhaustion, pride, or wrong decisions. The Holy Spirit offers STRENGTH, SIMPLICITY, and SUGGESTIONS, but He will not override a heart that insists on control.

Being Spirit-led does not mean WEAK tayo…it means WISE tayo. Instead of reacting, we pause. Instead of pushing, we surrender. Instead of relying on our own willpower, we allow His power.

Today, I will remind myself that I don’t have to prove that I am strong…HINDI LAHAT GALING SA ATING LAKAS…I just need to stay connected to the One who is super strong.

Starting a new series…
Day 1 of my 3-5 minutes Bible Reading focused on Bible verses about the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1; Luke 11:13; John 14:26; John 16:7-14; Acts 1:5; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 4:8; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 2:27).

Luke 4:1 shows Jesus was “full of the Holy Spirit” before He faced the wilderness. Kung si Jesus mismo, na Anak ng Diyos, chose to walk led by the Spirit and not by His human strength, what makes us think we can handle life on our own? Minsan gigising tayo na agad nag-s-scroll sa phone, nagpa-plano, or nagre-react sa problema without even acknowledging the One who is ready to lead us. The Spirit is not just for church moments or emotional worship nights…He is meant to GUIDE us in daily decisions kung paano tayo magsasalita, paano tayo magre-respond, paano tayo magpapasya, at paano tayo magpoproseso ng mga problema.

Many of us feel LOST kasi sanay tayo gumalaw sa sariling diskarte. But walking without the Spirit is like using Waze on airplane mode ☹ akala mo gumagalaw pero wala kang direction. Jesus modeled DEPENDENCE, not independence. Being Spirit-filled is not about speaking in tongues alone, it is about being Spirit-led in our thoughts, emotions, and reactions on a daily basis.

Today I am reminded to start with a simple prayer, “Holy Spirit, lead me today. I don’t want to walk on my own.” Guidance does not come automatically…it is INVITED, ACKNOWLEDGED, and FOLLOWED.

The past 30 days of doing this simple Bible reading is leading our C-Group members (including me and Wendell) into a life of transformation by the grace of God. Join us as we get to know and walk in the Holy Spirit, making Him our daily guide.

"Your heart is a fireplace, not a trash can. God calls us to be a temple of the Holy Spirit, not a tomb of a dead man's religion." - Pastor Vlad Savchuk

In our 2-3 minutes Bible Reading for the whole month of October is about the Holy Spirit. Here are the Bible verses in NIV translation:

Holy Spirit (NIV)
Luke 4:1 “Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,”

Luke 11:13 “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

John 14:26 “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

John 16:7-14 “7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. 12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.”

Acts 1:5 “For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 2:4 “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”

Acts 4:8 “Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people!”

Galatians 5:16 “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”

1 John 2:27 “As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.”

Join me in this journey. Let us learn about the Holy Spirit together.
