CYV Conducts Back-to-Back Seminar on Anti-Hazing and Bullying Law, Basic Life Support, and Earthquake Preparedness
July 4, 2026 — Demonstrating its commitment to building a safer, more informed, and disaster-ready community, the Capas Youth Volunteers (CYV) successfully conducted a Back-to-Back Seminar on the Anti-Hazing and Bullying Law, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Earthquake Preparedness on July 4, 2026.
The activity brought together youth participants to strengthen their understanding of responsible citizenship, legal awareness, emergency response, and disaster preparedness. Through a series of informative discussions and practical demonstrations, the seminar equipped attendees with valuable knowledge and life-saving skills that they can apply both in school and within their communities.
The first session focused on the Anti-Hazing Act and the Anti-Bullying Act, emphasizing the importance of promoting respect, inclusivity, and accountability among young people. Participants learned about the legal consequences of hazing and bullying, as well as their roles in fostering safe and supportive environments where every individual is protected and valued. Anti-Hazing Act of 2018 and Anti-Bullying Act of 2013 provide the legal foundation for these protections.
The seminar was honored by the presence of Hon. Juliet Jimenez Cabagan as one of the guest speakers. Drawing from her personal experiences and journey in public service, she inspired the participants by sharing valuable lessons on leadership, perseverance, and integrity. She emphasized that becoming an effective leader is built through dedication, humility, and a genuine commitment.
The seminar continued with a comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS) training, where participants were introduced to essential emergency response techniques, including assessing emergency situations, responding appropriately, and understanding the importance of immediate intervention during medical emergencies. The session highlighted how timely and correct actions can significantly improve outcomes during life-threatening situations. Basic life support training is widely recognized as a key component of community emergency preparedness.
To conclude the program, participants underwent an Earthquake Preparedness session that emphasized disaster risk reduction, emergency planning, and appropriate response before, during, and after an earthquake. Practical guidance on evacuation procedures and preparedness measures reinforced the importance of readiness in minimizing risks and protecting lives during disasters. Similar youth preparedness initiatives have highlighted the value of equipping young leaders with practical disaster-response skills.
The successful conduct of the seminar reflects CYV's dedication to empowering the youth through education, leadership, and community service. By combining legal awareness with practical emergency preparedness, the organization continues to develop responsible, compassionate, and resilient young leaders who are ready to serve and make a positive impact in their communities.
