Bill Status & Presidential Action

Congress—the House and Senate—ratified the bicameral conference report in mid-June, which proposes:

Extending barangay and SK terms to four years

Postponing the elections from December 1, 2025 to the first Monday of November 2026.

The enrolled bill is currently with the President, awaiting his decision to sign, veto, or let it lapse into law.

On July 10, 2025, the Palace confirmed that the bill has not yet been received by the President, but when it arrives, it will be studied for possible approval.
