ARAL Reading Program inilunsad

VESians attends August Holy Mass

Velasco Elementary School celebrated its Holy Mass for the month of August with Msgr. Samuel Baruela as the celebrant. Teachers, pupils, and parents gathered together to pray and thank God for His blessings. Four seminarians from St. Joseph Seminary also joined the celebration and served as altar servers, adding solemnity to the occasion.

In his homily, Msgr. Baruela reflected on the Gospel reading from Matthew 22. He reminded the community, especially the learners, to strengthen their faith by drawing closer to Jesus. He encouraged the pupils to apply the Word of God not only in their daily lives but also in their studies.

Msgr. Baruela left three simple but powerful reminders for everyone: “Listen to Jesus, Focus on Jesus, and Zoom in on Jesus.” He explained that just as students need to concentrate to understand their lessons, they must also give time and attention to their spiritual life. By keeping their eyes and hearts on Jesus, they will find guidance and strength in their journey as learners and as children of God.

The Holy Mass served as both a spiritual nourishment and a meaningful reminder for the whole school community to live with faith, focus, and purpose.
