School Governance Council Assembly 2026

The School Governance Council (SGC) Assembly 2026 was led by the School Head, Valentina R. Del Mundo, July 24.

The SGC members gathered to discuss the significant matters and plans for this school year. It focused on the Student Handbook, explaining the rules, policies, expectations, and responsibilities of the students. The Annual Implementation Plan was also presented, highlighting programs and projects such as Project SAGIP, Project GROWTH, Project QR Attendance, Project CLIMB, Project Mag-ARAL, Project CARE, Project SUPPORT, and Project Rice.

The event also included the SPTA Election, where parents and school representatives elected the new Co-chairperson, Secretary, and five members through a fair, open, and transparent votation. The activity emphasized the importance of leadership, teamwork, and active participation in building a stronger and more supportive school community linkages and stakeholders.

Forging Tomorrow's Journalists

During the journalism workshop held at Lalig National High School on July 2 and July 3, 2026, Grade 7 and Grade 8 students displayed their talent and skill in writing and critical thinking. Through the analysis of the context prepared by Sir Rogelio D. Barral, the Laligian Press adviser with the guidance of the Editorial Board members, the students deepened their understanding of responsible news writing.

JULY 4, 2026 — Tiaong District I successfully completed its Municipal Meet. Student-athletes gathered to compete and represent their respective districts.

Kian Estrada of Recto Memorial NHS was given the honor of lighting the ceremonial torch. It marks as the official start of the competition and inspired every athlete to give their best while still holding the value of playing fair until the end.

With the theme, "Play with Heart, Win with Honor" the event reminded the athletes that success is not only measured by medals but also by respect, discipline, and integrity inside and outside the competition.

The ceremony united schools and inspired every athlete to compete with their heart while bringing pride to their district.

Sprint to Finish: Eseque and Bundalian Secures Third and Fourth

On the 4th day of July 2026, Palarong Bayan 2026 was taken place at Lusacan Elementary School. Two Laligian Athletes participated in 200 meter run. Renz Allen Eseque secured Third Place with a time of 14.02 seconds. While, Jhon Rex Bundalian took the Fourth Place clocking 16.50 seconds.

Eseque and Bundalian both showed determination and endurance during the run. Upon the race, they excecuted the attitude of being persistent.

BRAIN BEATS BRAWN: LaNHS Men’s 3x3 Team Outsmarts LNHS, 20-11, to Win Municipal Meet

THE LALIG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL Men’s 3x3 Basketball Team proved that strategy wins games after defeating Lusacan National High School, 20-11, to clinch the Municipal Meet title.

The LaNHS squad displayed superior basketball IQ, teamwork, and court vision. Great shooting and smart decision-making allowed them to control the pace of the game from start to finish.

Their hardwork led them to win that paved their way towards the Provincial Meet in Gumaca.

Artillaga and Morales dash through 400m Footrace

Jyrus Morales and Justine Artillaga, two of the Laligian tracksters dashed the hot field of Lusacan Elementary School, during the 400m run race in Palarong Bayan, July 4, 2026.

Morales achieved Third Place at 1:20.00, while Artillaga finished Fourth, with 1:27.00.

Both player embodies hardwork, and sacrifice while competing with integrity.
